It's taken Bastian just 16 minutes to score on his debut. Glad to see that it has started well for him. Hopefully he can stay injury free and enjoy his time out there.

Bit of a waste to use what seems to be a very talented director then. Marvel seem to have it right (for what they want) in getting a yes man who will do what the studio want.

Meh, never cared about her as an actress, wasn't particaly bothered when she got her bits out in Under the Skin.

I think if Peele does Akira then he probably gets the green light to make more indie ones.
Kinda like what Colin Trevarrow has right now

I just looked him up (safety not guaranteed was so forgettable), surely that guy is exactly what Marvel want, a low level yes man who doesn't have his own style to have too much say. Much like the directors Lucas used for TESB and ROTJ.
Peele on the other hand seems like a genuinely talented director who would want to have a big say and control over movies. Being a yes man for such an iconic remake isn't going to give him that. Also I thought the new Akira was gonna be made into 3 parts?

I guess it all depends on what kind of character Peele has. Perhaps he has been seduced by the dark side. Hope not as Get Out was brilliant. Hate to see that edge blunted.

I really enjoyed Get Out but felt it would have been so much more powerful (spoiler alert) if when the police car arrive it was a white policeman who shot him dead. Would have pretty much summed up the racial issues currently going on in America these past few years perfectly.

Yeah. I thought that would happen (and mirror what happened in Night of the Living dead)

Exactly, maybe there will be a To Live and Die in LA alternative ending later on.

Still to this day shocks me when I watch that.

He's gone to the retirement home that his body deserves. I'm always surprised by VC liking Bastien. Simply because he's a sensible poster and must have interested Bastien's performances last year to how I interpreted them. I thought he was fairly terrible, and that's being kind. He's no loss in my book.
As for how Jose treated him, it's become more clear over time that Jose has some sort of LVG signing vendetta. I'm not sure that's the way to go about things

Good luck Bastian.
We need a better player than him but he also deserved better treatment than he got at United.
