But it is not our squad players that have held us back from doing well, this season.
We have paid huge money for the likes of Pogba, Martial, Mkhi, Mata, Herrera and others to be bone fide 1st team starters and they are the guys that are not showing the quality and consistency as often as they should, not taking games by the scruff of the neck and making things happen (a bit harsh on Mata, but he can be hit and miss too).
and yes, the manager takes his fair share of the blame, of course... he is also paid a fortune and needs to work out how to get these 1st team players into form and bring the confidence back.
It is easy to attack Fellaini and Lingard, but they were not kept here by Mourinho to be first team starters, week in, week out. It is only the poor form of the big guns that allow them to get games. I do get the frustration around Fellaini, he was poor again last night, yet doesn't seem to suffer the same fate as other poor players... It can be baffling, but if others in his position were doing better, he wouldn't get a sniff, as a starter.
On a brighter note, those 1st team players CAN turn it around... An improvement in form from even a couple of those mentioned would show a difference in our football... We saw glimpses of it in and around November and we will see it again.

I don't accept the blame being assigned to Mourinho. We are creating innumerable chances most games, which tells me that the coaching is right.
The players need to be held to account for being wasteful. We should have 4 or 5 players in double figures this season purely on missed "should've scored" opportunities.

I gave him dog's abuse after that 2-1 win at Boro too, that final 30 minutes was painful... Way worse than either of these latest draws... But points make prizes and keep people happy.

That statement is less true now and has been ever since the new year than it was during the first half of the season.
We have more issues than just being unable to finish at the moment.
Performance levels have dropped, we're not creating as much and player confidence seems to be at an all-time low for this season.

It's not what I am implying in the slightest. I'm saying that they should be making it almost a no brainer for Jose, and non of them are... I even added in the caveat about a lack of CMs being Jose's fault.
