Is it just me who thinks that it's quite a poor reflection on our league if he's the best player 2 years running? And i don't mean he's a poor player because he's clearly not. He's very good at what he does. However he's a better player without the ball than he is with it. He has two goals all season, both against utd ironically with one in the league and one in the cup. Doesn't make chances. Passing is simple he doesn't really play any difficult balls.
So what we're saying is that a midfeilder who has lungs on him like a marathon runner is a better player than likes of Hazard, Sanchez, Aguero, Zlatan, Dele Ali, Kane, Coutinho, Mane etc. I realise the importance of.players like kante but i don't go to watch football because of players like him. I go because of players mentioned above.
Don't think there will be many kids shouting 'im being kante' any time soon on the school fields or playgrounds. Hazard is a far better footballer.
Kante being named pfa player

I think people are completely underestimating Kante's ability. In my opinion, he's closer to Essien than Makelele. Makelele played a 20 metre square in the centre of the pitch, which he did better than any other player, but he could not do much more. Kante is dynamic, box to box - and while he is not as explosive in an attacking sense as Essien, he is much better positionally. People see him as defensive because he's always there putting in a tackle but it's not because he's in a defensive position but because he reads the game and positions himself so well. You can see this when he plays with Matic who is a very good holding midfielder but does nothing better than Kante, except the odd long shot ! Kante passes well, makes lots of tackles and interceptions. Great player.

Congrats to Dele and Kante on their wins. Can't help thinking that Kante must have enjoyed the ceremony's food and drink though:

Ramires was someone who could run around all day. But don't try and tell me he was even in the same league of player as Kante

i actually thought ramires was decent

Of course. Don't get me wrong, I'm not rubbishing Ramires, but he was a player more fitting of Eric's description. Not the same calibre of player as Kante

Kante doesn't score goals (1 in league). He doesn't get many assists.
I was being a bit silly saying "running around a lot" but that's essentially what he does. He's very good at it don't get me wrong but he's better when the ball is at somebody else's feet. That was my point.
He's a very good player, I never said he wasn't. He just isn't my choice for PFA and plenty of others would have chosen Hazard too. Depends what you like in football I suppose.
People see Kante as the missing link from Chelsea last season and I think this is somewhat missleading as Kante started the season at Chelsea in a different formation and didn't look great like none of them did. The change in formation has won chelsea the title, not Kante.

Just don't think you know your footy.
Last year we dominated teams and just got picked off on the counter, this year we are allowed to press teams etc and not be hit on the counter as much as kante cuts everything out.

He's just such an intelligent player, always in the right spot and his ability on the ball is underrated.

It will be interesting to see how Kante performs in the CL. If he gets found out then it's a poor reflection on the PL. That being said I think he is better with the ball than many people give him credit for. But Hazard is clearly the difference-maker for Chelsea

Eric I hope you saw chelsea lastnight, kante was unbelievable, did not waste a ball, was spreading passes left right and centre like nobodies business, storming through midfield and played like the best player in the league. Immense performance.

Was a very good performance last night.
Still has those headless running around tendencies though. Both Spurs & us showed that you can pass it around him and nullify him a bit.

2ce in a season I can do with. Hardly headless running though, he more often that not either wins the ball or forces opposition to move back
