So let me get this straight. Roy keane walked out on his country on the eve of a world cup, insulted his team mates on Man utd TV and left Man Utd because he fell out with his manager and he was the best captain ever? He doesn't even sound like a good captain to me.

That's OK, but your opinion doesn't chance the truth that Keane was one of the very best captains ever.

Question for those around to watch United in the 80's in Robbo's heyday. How much of an instigator, enabler and contributor to the United booze culture at the time was he? I ask because I wasn't around to know.

Viera should never be on the list after Keano made him crumble in the tunnel...I honestly thought Viera was going to cry!

Terry should also be removed because the best captains don't shaag their teammates' partners...

For me it would have to be Puyol, Adams, Keane or Robson from that list.

If it wasn't for the incident with ROI at the WC, Keane would be a shoe in for me...His side won the treble...top that.
