Bad news for Mayweather as he'll be 41 by then and three years since he fought in a significant fight.

It will be a sanctioned boxing fight so if FMJ wins he goes to 50-0 and surpasses Rocky Marciano's record of 49-0.

Not sure Mayweather gives much of a toss about the 50-0. If he really did he could have fought another Berto level fighter and won easily. He's in this now for his hundred million payday and doubt he cares much about anything else at this stage.

In the words of Dana White when talking about Mayweather he said "when you're wearing a two hundred thousand dollar watch that's the problem. Oh and taxes are coming up real soon as well buddy"

And Mayweather will never get to 50-0. The boxing Gods won't allow it

Canelo and Golovkin took the september date so Floyd will have to pick a different one.

mayweather hasn't fought any other month bar sept and may for the last 10 years so its a safe bet if it does go ahead it will be now be may 2018

I think something about the may one being cinco de mayo, started with the de la hoya fight, the sept date I have no clue

Unless they want to wait another year at very least then they'll have to fight another date. Dana White now putting some deadlines on talks so they'll have to hurry up otherwise it won't happen at all.
