Witcher 3

Well, I've tried to play this for the 3rd or 4th time now and I just can't get into it..

I find it boring with long cutscenes that I just don't find interesting at all. I have no interest in the story apart from thinking at one point that I hoped Vesemir didn't die...

Combat is ok but not easy and the inventory and set up all just seems overly complicated..

I'm kind of disappointed as it should be a game I enjoy and get stuck into for 100+ hrs but I just can't get to grips at all with it.

It took me a while to get into Skyrim however Skyrim I found was a lot easier once I got over the initial part.

Anyone else feel the same?

Yeah I was the same. Its strange I appreciate what a fantastic game it is and know I need to put the hours in to get the best out of it.

I managed to batter thro Skyrim no probs and pumped massive amounts of hours into it (despite it being easily the poorest of the Elder Scrolls IMO) but perhaps the fact that I am familiar with Elder Scrolls lore and Bethseda RPG's that made it easy for me to play.

But I have tried twice to get into the Witcher but havent yet (also have all the DLC) I didnt play any of the other Witchers however so I dont know if that is a factor. Still I have never deleted it from my hard drive cos I know I should put the time into it. I also have less time to play it now with the racing i do online and the practice I need to put in. I couldnt tell you what I think is wrong with The Witcher, I know its a great game but havent put anymore than say 12/15 hours into it?!

I got the game of the year edition with all the DLC thrown in. I've not even taken it out of the shrinkwrap yet as I'm working my way through Rise of the Tomb Raider, which is an outstanding game.

Read some very good things about Witcher 3 though so looking forward to it.

Took me about 5 attempts scattered over two years to finally get into it.

I was flat out on it and then stuff came up and I haven't played it in a while. Will definitely be getting back to it though

I bought Uncharted 4 again a couple of weeks ago because it's so good, and enjoyable.

Don't know why I traded it in when I finished it, because the replay value is definitely there.

Doing it on a harder difficulty?

Yeah struggle with the witcher when I played it, stopped after a fair few hours. Very much my type of game aswell but just didn't appeal to me. Skyrim and dragonage much more enjoyable.

If this is aimed at me, then yeah I'll do it on the hardest this time.

Will also give online a go because I never really gave it a chance, any experience on it?

At the time of you posting this article I coincidentally started playing it again myself. I had just completed Skyrim for the 2nd time so to play The Witcher 3 made me really appreciate the graphics. This time around I am struggling to get back into it. The Baron quest is boring the pants off me. I just wanna stick a sword in him
I am not overly keen on the mechanics of the game either.

I think the camera angles are its only let down, but keep with it Ronny. Witcher 3 is one of the best games I've ever played. Last of Us, Bloodbourne and Uncharted4 being the others.

I bought this game the other day based on this comment, I have to say it is a quality game.

I had the same experience, Ronny. From an objective point, Witcher 3 is an amazing game. But for me the story was meh, the protagonist boring, the combat boring (I don't like melee). I did finish it eventually. But don't feel forced to finish it.

I can recommend Horizon, I enjoyed that game a lot more and is on equal quality with the witcher 3.
