Spurs finished 11 points behind leaders last season and are currently 10 points behind the leaders this season.

Spurs actually finished as close to 8th Liverpool LAL last season as to 1st lol. Spurs were actually never in a title race. They only scraped top 4 as both Manchester clubs bottled 5 points late on in the season. if they hadn't spurs would have finished 5th in a 2 horse race.

Klopp has won how many Bundesliga titles and made it to 2 European finals yet doesn't get in.

No one knows what the term means in a football context and it's basically used for any team that doesn't win every game.

Although what is worse is how some fans actually try to use it to say we lost better than you, most recently it's been Spurs fans
