Europa Cup

I have / had no problems of playing in the Europa league the problem for me is that Thursday night football seems to kill the season for prem sides

I expect Wenger will treat it the same as the league cup and use it as an opportunity to give the kids a few more games, particularly in the early rounds

why would he do that, its also a way back into the Champions League, profound logic.

^Because historically he has a habit of treating lesser cups with disdain and probably knows tactically he has more chance of flat track bullying his way into the top 4 than tactically outwitting European managers

Whether English clubs win it or not, it is a cup for teams that are not good enough for the CL. Its all about money in football and its just another way to get more money out of fans.

There's a reason people call it a Mickey Mouse cup (I call it the EuroDisney Cup and would love it if EuroDisney actually came in and sponsored it). Just because we are in it doesnt make it a significant trophy. If we're in it, I'd prefer we won, but its for the also rans. Its the tournament equivalent of the third/forth place play off at the world cup. No except the nob a few posts ago or nerds remembers the also rans champions.

most of the rest of Europe take it seriously it's just us that takes the pi$$ out of it, if we get to the latter stages or win it we'll get more excitement out of it then we got from the CL for the best part of a decade.

It's an enjoyable tournament, with good teams (this year aside) playing good football and if your team is in it its a chance to see an extra few matches.

Not a clue what there is to dislike the!
