"It's only Ray Parlour....."

And other great FA Cup final memories

Looking forward to Saturday has us looking back on previous glories. And considering the opponent on Saturday who can not remember 2002?

It was a hard fought game against Chelsea back then, and it took 2 of the best FA Cup final goals you will see. First it was Ray Parlour, curling home from outside the box. Then Freddie Ljungberg picking the ball up on the halfway line, treating John Terry like a rag doll, before curling in a delightful finish from the edge of the box.

Let us hope for a repeat this year. When you have players like Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck you have a chance.

2002 versions Cudicini Terry, Gallas, Desailly, Lampard, Zola, Hasselbaink would walk into the current Arsenal team with there eyes shut.

Dunno about that Cudicini was a decent keeper nothing more than that, out of that list I would probably only take Hasselbaink and Gallas if he wasnt moaning. Terry got brushed aside by Freddie Ljungberg who hardly was a man mountain of a player so that doesnt say much for him. Despite the goals I was never a fan of Lampard as a player.

Arsenal 2002 better than Chelsea 2002 and 2017 teams

Ozil, Terry wasn't the first nor the last to get mugged NY Ljungberg.

Choice, you 2002 team is better than our current one, however Conte is better than even that version of Wenger who was never great tactically which would have helped bridge the gap in a head to head.

Yet couldn't win the league

In 2002 Chelsea had 64 points and finish 6th, I don't think that's better then our current team. Everyone also knows Arsenal are in a false position. We should have finished at least 2nd/3rd this season
