Forrest at his best is a great wee player, but he's incapable of playing well for longer than a month or 2 at a time, then he goes quiet for a few months.

Fine as a squad player, but not someone who can be relied on as a first choice winger

I agree. I think he's limited to bomb forward really fast or bomb back really fast. I hope we get Roberts back. We need somebody with a trick and quality passing ability.

Jonny Hayes in 16/17: 11 goals and 24 assists.

Patrick Roberts: 11 goals, 19 assists.

James Forrest: 8 goals, 13 assists.

To be fair, Paddy and Jamesie both had less game time than JH, but Jonny's stats are impressive

Add to that:

Jonny's nomination for PFA Scotland Player of the Year and that, hopefully, Sheffield United will pay us £750k for GMS, this looks like a no-brainer
