We should rather lose Alexis on a free

How can it even be contemplated that we sell Alexis when we're signing Lacazette? If (and I have a good feeling we will) we sign Mahrez and lose no one else, we will defo be in with a shout of winning the EPL.

If we sell Alexis now, the only team that will be in with a realistic offer is Man City and they'll be offering 50m. Is anyone really telling me we should really give away the league for 50m in today's football economy?

We should rather keep him and lose him on a free plus who says he won't change his mind before Christmas. I think keeping Alexis is a no brainer. We don't attract too many world class players and letting one of the very few we have go to a competitor is just stupid. This Arsenal board might do it but let no one give them a round of applause for it if they do, it's daft.

I wouldn't call Sanchez a mercernary,
You have 10-15 yrs in football, to define your own legacy, if Sanchez doesnt think we can assist him with his personal goals, eg winning PL or CL, then i can fully see why he would want to leave. I don't want him too but can understand why, if he did.

Oh come on. Its all about the money.

I genuinely dont think so, we have money, not as much as Man C but we have more than enough to offer him.

It is interesting that the moment a player wants to go to City he becomes a mercenary, but if he stays at Arsenal he isn't. Or perhaps as Gin states, he wants to compete and win things. I think he will stay at Arsenal and see his contract out before joining City for a huge sign on fee next season. He can get all that sorted in January.

Ozil, you are stuck with but maybe he won't sign either. Not so much of a queue for his services mind.

The point which players leave Arsenal to join City because they want to win things (apart from more money) is not valid anymore. At least not since the new TV deal.
Basically City took advantage when everybody else was skint. Since the new deal, both clubs have been competing argubaly at the same level. Although Arsenal did win more in that period

Offer him what Wenger thinks he is worth. Keep in mind he is asking to be put in the same bracket as C.Ronaldo and Messi. And for all the will in the world he is not in their class.

Exactly but what AW think's he's worth and what Alexis thinks he's worth are 2 different things. Personally, he should our top earner at our club, but not ridiculously higher than anyone else, and if he doesn't want that, then he's got to go because we cant do anymore than that.

The problem with South American players are their agents and how much money they make out of moving players. I doubt very much he gets the best advice.

Alexis is a 28 year old who has played an awful lot of football in the last 4 years, hardly getting a rest in the off seasons of those years. I may be wrong but I sense a downward spiral of his prowess.

I don't think Arsenal will shift on their final offer on the table before he proceeded for the Confed. I think its a take it or leave it offer. He could be gone for free next summer as Wenger, who happens to be equally as stubborn, insists Sanchez is going nowhere.

It is not just south american players tbh. It is the same situation with Ox. It is his agent whom keep trying to engineer a move so that he can fill up his pockets.

The playing time excuse is just rubbish, especially after this past season in which he made 45 appareances, 29 of them in the league alone.

Least Lazacette will mean you'll finally stop playing Sanchez out of position though and can play him in his best position.

Cech
Bellerin-Holding-NewCB-New LB
Coquelin-Cazorla
Sanchez-Ozil-Mahrez
Lazacette

That would look very tasty, Bertrand or Creswell would be a good signing for Arsenal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've got Koscielny so a new CB not a priority. Xhaka over Coq all day long
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So I take it you don't see s problem with having a DM who can't tackle then?

It might not be about money all the time and JT going to Villa has shown that.
But in Sanchez case, I'm sorry but it is about money.

Bayern wanted him but their interest has cool down now and it is not becaus of the fee asked by AFC but more about the wages the player has requested. And we all know that he has more chances of winning trophy at Bayern than he has at AFC or City.

Gilberto Silva wasn't a tackler either but was great. Xhaka is a 'sitter' rather than a blood n guts Roy Keane type who thunders into tackles. Xhaka has little speed but we need someone like him to sit in front of the back 4 and stop opponents getting into the box. I think he had a dodgy start to his career at Arsenal but was showing signs torwards the end of the season of growing into the role.

Just my view and he could just as easily revert to with last season's early form of making rash tackles.

I'm certainly not as black and white on him being either great or rubbish as some others are on their views on players. I just think we should give him longer to acclimitise before writing him off. I also believe that modern teams no longer require a hard man tackler in order to be successful.
