Sunderland 1 - 1 Derby County

1945 Friday 4 Aug 2017
Stadium of Light
Sunderland

A new dawn awaits, a new era, a new season, a new(ish) team, new posters (where?πŸ€”), the spirit of JA606DCFC limps on.

Have things changed? I know only Ang and Heb read this....oh and Igor occasionally but thank God my ego is not troubled by by the failure of others to recognise my genius which is like the only thing I have to declare........Oscar Wilde which is pretty topical at the moment πŸ‘

Talking of genius we have the JA606 mob who have organised, planned, produced and as we speak transporting the Bradley Lowery/ Lewis Mighty banner to the Stadium of Light. Watch out for it as it is an impressive tribute.

Going into this game is going into the unknown. Sunderland have been accused of being "fncking sh 1t" which suits me just fine. However do we have the wherewithal to cope with the potential backlash of ex- premier superstars wanting to prove themselves?

Derby are still waiting for someone to storm in and excite and become the next great hope. Ok, I suppose Huddlestone looks good and it's nice to have Freddie back but I'm not getting a delicious frisson of anticipation or expectation of the new season but perhaps that'd because I am by a swimming pool in Greece with a Mythos in a hand 😎🍺🍺🍺

So, the time for posturing and talking is done. Roll on, roll out, give me your contributions, anecdotes, musings, tactics and pessimists.

COYRAMS ....πŸ‘πŸπŸ‘πŸπŸ‘πŸπŸ‘πŸπŸ‘

(I've now got to find a bar showing the game)

Kin'ell, Bolt beaten by Gatlin, wasn't even close!

Sad end for Bolt really, beaten by a drug cheat.

Sad for athletics a two-time cheat is even allowed to compete. I'd favour a one-strike and you're out policy.

666,

Just read that Sunderland article on fb you commented on. Slightly deluded that guy, even claiming we had Newcastle fans in the away end.

View! it depends on how much you drink.

You're right there, Tommo! Absolute fruitcake... the atmosphere in the away end was bouncing but that didn't transfer to the televised coverage very well and, with all the cameras mounted at our level and looking down at the pitch, there was very little coverage of us (or our banner! ) but the noise didn't stop. We only heard Sunderland when they scored and I think once during the second half.

It seemed quiet on tv but that which you can hear was definitely us.

BTW, that ridiculous David Nugent chant was struck up again and I have to say it's embarrassing; worse even than Steve Bloomer's Watching. We really need to sort our chants out!

I could hear our fans quite a lot during the coverage

I, Ramdini, or even Mapdini, am full of admiration for the New Model 666. He seems to be a totally transformed character.

He goes even to away matches. What is more, he appears to have much more reasonable attitude and has even praised Keogh very recently (after the Sunderland game).

So, well done 666, and please keep it up.
