I think it's fairly easy to be disillusioned by football at the moment. The Neymar transfer really just epitomises the way things seem to be going, and whilst there's all the excitement of the upcoming season building, i think it's so important to remember that there are some players out there who clearly understand the gifted position they're in, and seem genuinely driven to use that gift to make a real world difference.
The article by Juan Mata on Sky Sports is beautifully written, and is really well worth a read. It gives a glimmer of hope that maybe away from the transfer fee's, and the mercenary attitude we see all too often, some of these guys are genuinely looking to make a change.

Porto isn't Chelsea bro.
During Fergie you got 99% of decisions. Don't tell me otherwise.

You will no doubt have statistical evidence to back up your stupid claim?

My eyes that see football matches and my gut feeling.
Ludicrous would have been a better word than stupid.

I keep seeing people saying they are 'disillusioned' with football now the Neymar deal has gone through
Was £80m not enough to cause disillusionment when we sold Ronaldo nearly a decade ago or the £46m for Zidane 15 years ago?

So wee.
I'd rather rely on a moment of sincerity than a thousand years of Ferguson's lies.

Funnily enough I think Juan might be one of my favourite footballers, despite the fact how he now plays with our rivals.
Footballers and other celebrities seem to live within a bubble at times, which makes it hard to relate. Juan is smart, humble and a incredibly gifted footballer, who is just as interesting off the pitch, as he is on it.
The likes of Pogba with his dabbing, or Cole with his drama, completely bore me. Juan can live a quiet life, and he will always have something more interesting to say than most other footballers.

How you lot took a lovely post about a lovely man and turned it pitch black really is typical of how dark the world's getting. Mata doesn't deserve to have a post about him turn into this garbage. Take it somewhere else.
Back to Juan Mata then -1% doesn't sound like much, but you get a few footballers at 1% and you have a tremendous amount of funding, he'll get a few of his friends to invest that, as it's a tax shelter, there's nothing to lose.
