Reds V Shrews Match Thread

Crusty may well change the whole team tonight, according to the NEP, however I expect the defence not to change to much.

Paul Hurst will bring a vastly changed squad from last season to the City Ground tonight. Shrewsbury had six players on loan last season who have all departed. Around four players have been sold. Hurst joined the club in October 2016 while they were struggling at the bottom of League One.
Shrewsbury are bottom of the table, six points behind 20th place, but Hurst is confident he can help the club avoid relegation.

He has obviously done a good job since then.

Both goalies are new, Dean Henderson joining on a season long loan from Man United and Craig MacGillivray signing on a one year deal from Walsal.
Shrewsbury Town have signed teenage Reading defender Zak Jules for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract.

Jules, 20, did not play a first-team game for the Royals.

But he did make 10 Scottish Premiership appearances for Motherwell during a loan spell last season, and he was a member of the Scotland Under-20 squad that finished third at the recent Toulon tournament.

The League One club have also signed Norwich City midfielder Ebou Adams on loan until January.

Adams, 21, signed from non-league Dartford in February 2016, will be making his second loan move from Carrow Road, having had a brief three-game stint with Braintree last season.

Shrewsbury have now made five summer signings, having previously brought in strikers Lenell John-Lewis and Arthur Gnahoua and midfielder Jon Nolan.

League One Shrewsbury Town have signed teenage winger Daniel James from Premier League Swansea City on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old was called up into the Wales senior squad for the first time for the World Cup qualifier against Serbia earlier this month.

James is Town's sixth signing of the summer so far.

Town have done well in preseason beating some impressive opposition
[ Aston Villa for one ] and beat Northampton Town 1-0 in extra time on Saturday, getting off to winning ways in the League One.

Bring on the Brentford. The Forza Garibaldi crew are having a big meet before the game so should be a lively atmosphere.
