Giroud to start?

Has to be the best option for the game against Leicester on Friday.
Lacazette will take time to settle in the PL, but with the injury to Alexis then I would have thought playing Laca behind Giroud is the best option from what we have left.

Iwobi, Welbeck, Walcott and Chamberlain are the other options. With the possibility Ozil is also out then it will have to be 2 of these.

I am sure you all know my opinion of Welbeck, and the idea of him playing in a creative role is a joke. Walcott showed some glimpses of adapting to the new system, but again not a starter for me. Chamberlain should be in a wing back role.

So, if Alexis and Ozil are out, I would go with Iwobi, Lacazette and Giroud as the front 3.

Personally I would try Lacazette and Walcott together to test if they can form a partnership like Walcott had with Robin Van Persie.

In the past Henry and Wiltord sort of worked out as a formation of an inverted V with Dennis.

----Henry------------------------
-----------------------Wiltord----
-------------Dennis--------------

We could do that sort of 'red arrows' formation with Lacazette/Walcott/Ozil if Alexis leaves.

Latest news to come is that Ozil is now in contention for tomorrow. Ramsey has a chance to be on the bench.

If Ozil starts then there is more reason to play Welbeck ahead of Iwobi, as he can do Ozils running about for him.
Still would go with Ozil, Laca and Giroud tbh.

What would the point of playing Giroud?

Our best move against Chelsea was only possible because of our speed on the counter. You only have to see that move again to understand how much of a bottleneck we have had in the past when Giroud has started. Just ridiculous to bring Giroud back into the conversation. Its almost like the last 5 years have been a great success with Giroud and there Lacazette was bought to play on the wing.

I am just amazed we have broken our transfer record to sign a striker to be played on the wing to accommodate 'Giroud'. Just madness.

To score goals mainly.

We were better once Giroud came on v Chelsea, and unsurprisingly got the equaliser with him on.

Lacazette needs time to settle, has been pretty anonymous in pre-season when he has not been with Giroud. No surprise the best moment he had on Sunday was when he picked the ball up deep in his own half and built play from there - that is how he has been at his best in pre-season.

You do realise Lacazette was signed for more than one game don't you?

How will a player settle if he is not played in the position he was bought for? Dennis took ages to score. So did Henry. But they all started in their correct positions.

Calm down you ninny.

YouTube clips can make Sanogo look like Drogba, we've all seen with our own eyes how abject Danny's finishing can be.

I've said he has his strengths, and that's the work he does outside the box. Just because I list his weaknesses on an obscure internet forum doesn't mean I don't support the team.

Just because it's not a 'strength' doesn't mean it's a weakness you clown.
