3 at the back? In which case VK, Stones and Walker? 4 in which case add Danillo to the 3? 451? Aguero up front? 433? Sane, Jesus and Aguero with Yaya Merlin and KdB behind?
Really hard to know how he will play it and so I think the only nailed on starters are Ederson, Vinny, Merlin and KdB. I presume Kun will start but knowing Pep he could opt for Jesus up front to start. An embarrassment of riches but Brighton will be up for it, first game in the top flight for many years and I believe that City were their last game in the top flight too. Would have been better to play them in a few weeks when their bubble may have been burst.

Go for Kane, Spurs will crash out of both the CL and the League Cup at the first opportunity so they won't need to rotate

LOL That's exactly what I was thinking too

Pep wants Aguero to drop deeper and assist more like he did with a cross at Boro for a Jesus header, if they can provide assists for each other and not just fight for the same chances they will stay on the pitch together, if they cant then one of them will get subbed and it wont always be Jesus

Not saying it would be my choice with Otamendi in there, but given what I saw from pre-season, I'd say it's a fair bet.

Am I the only one who's not fully convinced about Jesus yet?
I know it's very early days but I'd pick Sergio every time if we're going to play one up front.

We will know more after a full season and he's got his rhythm going.
I am impressed with his strength on the ball he's a fighter.
Tenacious and aggressive, at the mo though he's a one goal a game man whereas Sergio can smash two or three if he's on it.

It seems sometimes that we've gone from always expecting the worst to always expecting the best. I'm sure that in a few years that he'll be just as potent as Sergio.

I hope that we don't go too gung-ho.
Brighton do like it up 'em.

I'm worried Brighton may try to bend us over.

Imagine the scenes when Sane bends one in to the bottom left?

Well tbh Fernandinho as centreback is a bit stupid, but I think we will see him play there this season
Jesus has had a weak preseason, especially compared to Sterling (whom Pep likes to deploy as a forward), but I think Pep will sub him into the game in the 2nd half.
Sane played left wingback in preseason and did well, however I think he will only play in this position against inferior opposition.
That said I think Dani will have some minutes on the pitch x

Ederson
Stones Kompany Otamendi
Walker Fernandinho Silva Danilo
DeBruyne Aguero Jesus
Bravo Sane Sterling Mangala B Silva yaya Foden
Can see us playing 3 at the back a lot this season now we have fullbacks who can get up and down
Still think we are a bit light in Centre Mid and would like another centre half rather than bringing someone like Sanchez in
