DPL Hull City

Still no actual Table and Azza has the first claim on running this.

Hull management have not really indicated precisely whether they will make sweeping changes or not, but one way or the other we can expect them to come to win with players out to impress their manager.

The easy option would be to go for a draw with a win on penalties, but given our aspirations I'll go for a win, 2-1 and May to score with 6000 there.

May did really well again.
And a mention for Khemis who got better as the game went on.
Very composed and positive

I thought the Hull youngsters were quite good for the first 20-25 minutes and they passed the ball around crisply without really looking dangerous.
They had a couple of long range shots, one easily saved and the other a yard or two wide.
Gradually we stamped our authority and were well on top by the break.
The golden chance to go in front was wasted when Blair crossed poorly when he could have picked out May or Marquis for a tap in.
Alcock and Khemis looked nervous in the first half and Andrew constantly gave the ball away.
If it had been ATS the crowd would have been all over him.
In the second half we upped the ante and always looked comfortable and it was only a matter of time before we scored.
In the second half all of our players looked very good.
May, Wright and Kongolo in particular were outstanding.
May has impressed me more and more this season, his confidence is now sky high and he has the quality to back it up.
I reckon he will be transfered in the next couple of years for big money.
The Hull keeper (number 26) had a blinder and between him and the woodwork kept the score down to 2-0.
Marquis wasted a great chance for us to score when had he played a simple pass to May he would surely have scored but instead he over hit the ball and the chance was gone.
I mention this because i have seen him do it several times already this season.
Kongolo continues to impress me, his control, vision and passing is terrific.

I hope we can secure him for the remainder of the season after the New Year.

Williams looked good when he came on and it is good to have him back in contention.

Overall we were worth our win and although it was far from being Hulls' first team, we can only beat what is on the pitch.

Thanks a lot Hound - an excellent perspective.

I've just spent a quarter of an hour composing a response only to lose it all and finish up on the 606 Canoeing Forum!! "and If you cannot swim, canoe do this sport?" and " Kanu believe it?" What a hoot! ...so my comment is now relatively short.

Alfie May was certainly the star of the run-in last season and his displays will put pressure on Williams and Mandeville to work harder and they and Marquis all offer different styles which increases and varies DF's options.

Provided the defence can tighten, the future looks bright.

And Long-distance Goals Watch is on.

A shame you lost your response Don, i would have liked to have read it.
Up the creek without a paddle eh?
Maybe you could write it again?
