Hummels is a beast!

Good result, althought the performance could have been a lot better. But I must say, was very Impressed with their Centre Back Mats Hummels. Over the past few weeks, I had heard stuff like "Hummels is the next Beckenbaur" etc. After this display, I certainly could see the similarities- he was strong in the challenge, brought the ball out of defence exceptionally well, and his passing (particularly long range) was probably better than anyone else's on the pitch today. E.g. that pass, with the outside of the boot, to split our defence in the first half only for Kagawa to lose compusure.

I don't watch much Bundesliga, so I haven't seen enough of him to make a proper judgement, but if he plays like this consistently domestically, then he really is a top class player.
