Player/Manger you're relieved you never got

Frank De Boer will go down as one of the worst appointments in the history of the English league. Only won the Everdise 4 times when PSV and Feyenoord were noncompetitive, in a similar way to how Celtic have dominated since rangers were dissolved and the New Rangers and Aberdeen have failed to compete. The only difference is Celtic have been winning the league by 20+ every season and have been unbeatable in Scotland since Rodgers appointment whilst Frank De Boer at most won the Everdise by 7 points despite it's lack of competitiveness.

As Soon as PSV became competitive again he failed to win the league in his final two seasons, finishing a stunning 17 points behind PSV in 2014-2015. With his once high profile name losing it's promise he quickly moved to Inter where he lasted just 3 months leaving them in 12th place and then lasting only 4 games in England.

Back in 2014, just after De Boer had won his fourth league title in a row, and we where looking for a new manager, the two main names we were linked with where Frank De Boer and Pochettino. Many of our fan base including Don wanted a proven winner instead of a mid-table kind of manager. Luckily Levy did not wast his time scrolling through Ja606 and appointed the man who had actual managerial experience in the English League and he has went onto become our first manager in the premier league era to lead us to back to back top 4 finishes. However we could have been in such worse situation than we are in now if our club made the calamitous decision of appointing De Boer.

So my question to you all is who is the one player or manager who your club was heavily linked to but never got and are so relieved that it never went through.

As a Spur fan it has to be Leonardo Damiao and Frank De Boer without a shadow of a doubt.
