I thought Roy was world class? That's what we were told after Liverpool "unfairly" sacked him.

You were never told that by anyone.

Decision reeks of player power tbh. Reluctance to embrace new ideas such as actually passing the ball and playing proper football as opposed to defensive and counter attacking bollox. They deserve to be relegated but I don't see it happening unfortunately

Managers get less than a year in a job on average, and most sackings are due to fan pressure, so I'm not sure what sport you are watching but it's not football.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jose's sacking with us, the whole footballing world moved mountain's to absolve him of any blame and shift it onto the player's and board, likewise Ranieri.

De Boer wasn't going to work because he was trying to implement a style not suited to the personnel he had, take over Pep's Barca and tell them to play like Chelsea under Jose/Hiddink/Ancelotti and they will fall flat on there face.

The initial point was the post you made about player's being babies, this Palace squad could be the most loyal and dedicated lads in football history yet it still doesn't change the fact they physically can't play possession based footy simply because they ain't got the skillset.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's mindset not skillset.

They just didn't want to.

Most footballers can play most styles if they actually work at it and open their minds.

I have seen League 2 cloggers play lovely passing games. It's just about taking on new ideas and allowing yourself to be coached.

I'm not surprised Benteke wouldn't do it though. His whole career has been about wanting things put on a plate for him and moaning when it isn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? So if you told Iniesta to play like Essien or vice versa they would still be as good.

Yes there are some cases of lazy player's in the game but they are not as frequent as is made out.

Of course he couldn't play like Essien.

He could easily play in a Tony Pulis team though if he was willing to abandon his principles and do his job.

They should have kept De Boer. To be honest managers look good if they have good players. De Boer style worked at other teams as they don't have such inept players as the Palace squad. If you think of it De Boer was unlucky to be sacked as they outplayed the opposition most of the time.

de Boer has only managed at two other clubs. One he lasted less time than he did at Palace!!

Is it De Boer fault they battered the opposition but lost? I only watched last 20 minutes against Burnley and they had 3 sitters at least missed and seeing highlights of 1st half they had a couple of great chances missed as well. Makes no sense sacking the manager when its the stupid players like Dann costing them all the points. Dann should have had like a hat-trick against Burnley.

Yes.

Dyche is perfect example where results matter then garbage performances week in week out. Watching Burnley must be so boring parking the plane nearly every game they play and hope for 2 minutes of attacking play to score on the break in the whole match. Dyche is anti-football manager like Hodgson like Allardyce so they suit the premierleague managers job roles while De Boer was too creative.

They suit their teams' needs. Palace wanted a change, but DB was the wrong person. They needed evolution, not revolution. Especially when you're not backing the manager. A sudden change can take months for the players to get used to.

I do think DB was short changed as he was seemed to be promised something and then not given much help to actually do what he was asked to do. Parish has a lot to answer for, but sacking DB says the right decision.
