It's 27 years to the day since Peter Taylor passed away, his legacy writ large on both of our clubs.
His name will always be synonymous with Brian Clough's despite their acrimonious parting; it is right that they are both celebrated in the statue outside Pride Park, and I know his omission from the plinth in Nottingham centre still divides opinion at the red end of the Brian Clough Way.
Undoubtedly Cloughie's biggest regret, it's now a relationship that is written into our folklore, with few fans of either club prepared to entertain harsh words of either man. With the only derby match that matters next up for us, it's a good time to remember those years when we each were right up there thanks to the combined efforts of their partnership.
If there is anything after, hopefully the two of them will be sharing a few bevvies when the real football kicks off again next Sunday.

Strett, being called maroon by you is a compliment. You are probably considered intelligent on the Forest board. In the land of the blind etc.
