Ace, he did mate. Was discussing with another poster in typical Sherrif bitter fashion on how Dele Ali is average on a number of occasions Ended up with a huge omelette on his face when Ali ended up with 20+ assists + goals that season ......A bitter Arsenal fan that has nothing else to throw at us but " Winks is average" .....the level they stoop to now

Pretty sure Sherriff spent all of the 2015/16 season saying Dele was a load of crap etc. and was eventually made to eat his words.

Errr...no mate. You're imagining things. I'm pretty sure what me and Darren from the Man U board often denigrated him for was his technical ability and sloppiness on the ball. He still gets hammered for that on here though you get defensive when an opposition fan points it out.
Right from Alli's first few weeks in Spurs, he already showed a precocious talent of finding space around the box to pose a goal threat, a certain fearlessness in expressing himself, and was aggressive and physical, which are useful qualities too. I'm pretty sure there was never a time I said he was crap even though the most deluded mug on your board, Don, likes to perpetuate the myth.

Then tries to use the same myth in some blanket attempt to debunk everything else. I have definitively said Winks looks just about a mid-table level player AT BEST to me. He certainly wouldn't look out of place in Swansea with his limited skill-set which I'd describe as "tidy" and little else. Time will tell if I'm right or not.

Why? I've not been impressed. He doesn't look particularly gifted on the ball but has good energy, which suits Spurs, much like Jenas.

Don't know if you read this from me, Darren, or we're just so in sync, but it's exactly my description of his game (plus the Jenas comparison) which had many spudlings foaming in the mouth with rage. All I see is a leggy, energetic workhorse who is quite raw and sloppy on the ball and in his passing. Anyone that thinks he was MOTM yesterday has been conned big time by the hype. It's got to be the first time I've seen a midfielder (a fairly attacking one too) named as MOTM with a pass completion percentage in the MID 60's and ZERO chances created or any kind of measurable attacking contribution. "

To be fair, that was immediately after a NLD, when the media were sucking him off after he had a demonstrably mediocre game. I was probably in wumming mode at the time, providing a counterweight to all that hype.

In my cool-headed moments, I always gave Alli credit, right from his first few games for Spurs.

Sheriff posts garbage most of the time. He always has a dig at any Spurs players, without actually watching them play.
