Winks Again

produces another stand out performance in midfield .

His vision with his passing is sublime and his reading of the game is top notch.

I’ll keep on saying it Winks will go on to be a top midfielder and become one of the best .

Should Henderson how to play

Would like to see him and Wilshere given a start together for England in a friendly to see how that works.

He is growing in confidence for sure

Yesterday actually provided an interesting blueprint as to how an England team could play. Going up against a team who's strength is to attack, Spurs played exactly ZERO defensive midfielders !!!!! Winks, Eriksen & Dele played with great discipline, allowing the FBs to get forward in front of a rock solid back 3. Granted Spurs back 3 is miles better than England's but if Southgate could organize the team the way Poch does, England's FBs are not the problem. Wilshire, for all his faults !! has played well for England an could play in a similar way to Eriksen did & then you have the likes of Dier, Henderson (god help us) if we need to close a game out. Its all about having quality in possession and I can't think of 2 better in the middle of the park than Winks & Wilshire

Hmm i don't see overwhelming evidence to suggest he will become "one of the best". Think you're possibly getting a little bit carried away

That said, he is doing well given his squad status and age, in deputizing for Dembele. I thought he made a few errors yesterday which of course are to be expected, but it just casts a few doubts in my mind. Otherwise he looks one of the better english CM prospects of recent years, and seems to have a top notch attitude.

Awesome against Madrid. Fantastic yesterday. Big game player

I saw at least 70 mins of yesterdays game and he was either anonymous or passing sideways. Except he did something spectacular in the 20 or so mins I missed, we just have another case of you desperately trying to extol mediocrity.

Should Henderson how to play

He did comfortably less in the game than Henderson did. The difference in the game was one side's pathetic defending and Poch's superior game management and had nothing to do with anything Winks did.

Well he didn’t. Henderson was awful

Henderson was tripe but played one excellent pass. Credit where credit is due, but it was a single 5-star moment of quality in 90 minutes of 1- and 2-star nothingness.

Winks may not have had the 5-star moment, but he never dropped below a 3. His positioning, composure and ability to dictate the tempo are way ahead of the curve for a young player. Saying he'll be one of the best English midfielders is clearly premature, but the signs are good.
