Black dog of depression.

Just a wee lighthearted natter bout the melancholy of this time of year, as I am coming aff my happy pills and feeling a bit weird......can't you tell?

Us blokes, especially the ultra hard Rangers, Celtic Ulster Scot or Scots Irish types, do not do emotional feelings patter, but for the few that do, a question.

How best to get off anti- depressants.I am missing a day, then two days, but eight years ago last week, I just cut all booze out, so may go cold turkey?

Doing plenty of exercise and going outdoors, but got a puncture miles from home on ma mountain bike and whilst out on my beloved motorbike this week, I passed my grandparents graveyard where I last saw my dad up and about, before cancer got hold of him.😧Have I any readers left?😀

Our whole workplace is changing as we move to Universal credit,or go surplus, so that is depressing in itself.
My car and bike have cost me 1500 quid recently, so it is orange in a sock............
And piece of coal for Christmas!

Apart fae that life is cool.

Not wishin to depress yeez, but any hints on binning drugs would be most welcome.Am half aff ma heid😲

Pity there are not more girls and women on the site, as wans at work and socially tend to admit to and talk about the black dog more easily.A female counsellor sorted me out, whereas, the bloke before and I literally ended up chatting about Rangers😧She just kicked off with, " Tell me your darkest thoughts" and we never looked back.

Have a good weekend👍

Can't believe this thread is nearly 5 years old. Hope everyone is doing well. I have been fairly busy with work, even through COVID and not had much time for anything else even the bike. Last year I only did about 200 miles on it. This year I have done over a thousand so far, still nowhere near what is like but o do have a week in the lake District in exactly 4 weeks from tomorrow.

Yes, I was shocked to see it was so old, like myself🤓

Enjoy the cycling, hope to get out here in co Antrim later today and sunny long weekend.

Thank goodness lockdown and COVID are now memories, mainly.

Good mental health to all👍

Gotcha👍

Me too, got a wee Fireblade, the CBR 900 RR and now sun is out, so will it be😉

What do you ride, JFDI?

I live on the Antrim coast road so bikes pass all the time nearby on way to north coast etc, not just NW200 weekend. And one has to join them.

Sorry mate, at work and for some reason no signal in the usual areas but an early blade, nice. My mate had one and it shifts. My current ride is a GS, I'd love another sports bike or even a tourer like a busa, 1400zzr or the new Suzuki GT, I know that engine well enough.

No worries, the GS is nice and you like the big bikes.

I was used to 600 machines, hornet's, bandits and Fz6 so this 1998 Blade at 918cc is a step up👍😎

The busa is huge and then the thought of 1400zzr on a bike😜....I have never owned a Kwak, all the rest though.

Safe riding buddy and keep her between the hedges, as I think Joey used to say.
