I was just reading of his life story in some new film ,and his records are amazing. I was wondering why he never got a Knighthood.
Three years from his 70th birthday, Dalglish - voted Liverpool's greatest ever player and the most capped Scotland international of all time with a share of the record for the most goals scored - is the subject of a new biopic, which is in turns stirring and self-deprecating, gently humorous and inextricably defined by tragedy, just like the man himself.
Dalglish scored 167 goals in 320 games for Celtic. As solely a player for Liverpool between 1977 and 1985 he won three European Cups, five league titles and four League Cups. As their manager he took them to three more league titles and two FA Cups, including a league and cup Double in his first season as player-manager in 1985-86.

Don't know what's going on. Might find out next weekend if it's not done and dusted.
Eck was keen last time until he found out the state of the club. He was warned that it would eventually damage his reputation.
However...having been 9/10 months down the track and still just with the occasional tv gig, he might have worked out that he's fevked anyway and might take it if he can get a big enough payday and contract.

Good question.
Beyond his outstanding contribution to football, as both a player and manager, his actions following the Hillsborough disaster, were above and beyond what any manager, or sporting personality has ever had to go through.
Im sure Kenny isnt interested in knighthoods, or accolades for what he sees as just acting as he should have done, and how he was brought up to act in these situations, but the contribution of him, and his wife, in attending countless funerals, being available for all those families of the victims at the time, and since, is quite frankly amazing.
Added to this, the tireless work of both he, and his wife Marina, in raising fortunes for Cancer research in this city makes you wonder from the outside looking in, what exactly does it take to be honoured for your actions within sport, and in public life generally.
A great man indeed.
