if there's no midlands, are we north or south. this report in the sun says we're northerners.

as a kid i went with my dad to visit some of his friends, one in london and one in huddersfield. although it was battersea, a working class area i remember feeling that this felt different, the people seemed foreign.
huddersfield, although they spoke funny, felt familiar.
so to me we are northern.

Birmingham is the border between North and South however Id consider Birmingham southern as its closer to London than Manchester.

It's weird how the defined line goes from the SW to the NE diagonally. Pretty much like Scotland when dividing the lowlands and the highlands. Ol' Butey is a highlander, which could explain things.

didn't read the sun article as i'd rather wipe my harris with grade 1 sandpaper than look at that rag but why is there no midlands???
or if it meant hypothetically if there was no midlands...then I would say we are northerners.

Having lived down south for the past 18 months, I definitely identify as northern.
