As you may be or may not be aware, both the demo's for PES12 and Fifa 12 are out, i was wondering what you guys thought of them, which one do you think is better?
To me, overall going by the complete package, Fifa 12 seemed the better game, the graphics were overall better, although PES12 faces and crowds looked more realistic. And the overall presentation to Fifa 12 was better, it looked more authentic, and i liked the mini features, i.e. shoot-out before the match starts etc. Although PES12 match preparation setting seemed better, and obviously Fifa had the better playlist, commentators and crowd sounds.
But going by the main aspect of any game, the game play, Fifa 12 although impressing me with the new defensive system, which makes the game more challenging, which cant be said about the predecessors' where the defensive system seemed too easy and unrealistic, you just touch the opposition player with the ball and practically the ball glues onto your feet!
PES12 seemed more smoother and fluid, something which cant be said about PES11, which was a big dissapointment last year. I played both Fifa 12 and PES 12 yesterday for considerable amount of time and came to a conclusion with both games having a good gameplay, but PES12 seemed more enjoyable and going by that i think PES12 just nicks it for me.
So overall Fifa 12 offers the better package, but going by the gameplay PES12 seemed more enjoyable.

Somebody should create an open source footie game to compete with these two. Both are stagnating a bit in my opinion. But tbf Pes 2011 and from what I can tell on 2012 demo seem to be making a bigger effort.

Can't stand PES myself, it just seems cheap compared to FIFA and the players run in squares compare to the fluidity of movement FIFA has incorporated, that said I did have a lot of fun playing PES 09 when drunk after playing FIFA till the disc broke. The tackling on FIFA 12 is going to take some getting used to but I can see it keeping me occupied for another year.

I played both quite a bit and much preferred FIFA, couldn't get into PES at all, bit boring.

the pes demo was awful. players looked too robotic and all the passes were too one-dimensional.

I tend to find that people that like FIFA can't play real football.

that's some weird logic my friend.
what if you play both?

My own personal experience is that the younger generation tend to play fifa, maybe cos it has all the razzamataz and more licences to make it seem more realistic to footy, but i can't hack the gameplay,it's just to slow and hesitant for me,pes gameplay wins hands down, and thats why i prefer it,after all thats what its about, and not the fancy off game screen visuals.
PES12 all the way!

Pro is much more enjoyable as a game. Fair enough you want a realistic game but not too realistic that it bores the pants off you. Pro is a proper arcade game
