i think a lot of united fans have been fooled by the idiotic wenger playing nasri out of position and don't realise just how good this guy is. wenger has pushed nasri out wide to accomodate fabregas and wilshere when in fact nasri's best position is as a central playmaker - which is exactly what we need. all i can say to the people claiming modric is better than him is that you are idiots. modric is a very good player but nasri is miles better and really should be one of the best players in the world by now. at marseille i could see that he was a very special talent and was compared to zidane but wenger hasn't been able to get the best out of him. i have no doubt that he would flourish at united when playing in his best position and fergie would turn him into the world class player he should be. i would honestly choose nasri over sneijder regardless of money because he is still only 23 and i believe at united he has the potential to become much better than sneijder.

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has urged manager Arsene Wenger to play him in a central role rather than being shunted out to the wing.
In recent weeks Nasri has moved inside to fill in for injured captain Cesc Fabregas, scoring a brace against both Tottenham Hotspur and West Brom, and wants to remain in the role.
The France international, who has mainly been deployed on the flank since moving to the Emirates Stadium from Marseille in 2008, starred in a central role in Les Bleus' 2-0 win over Romania on Friday night and now wants to do the same for his club.
Nasri said: "That's where I play best, that's how I was formed. In every age group at youth level, I often played through the middle. I've been playing out wide for two years with Arsenal but feel more at ease in the centre of the pitch."
The Gunners already have a number of options in the middle of the pitch - including rising star Jack Wilshere, Andrei Arshavin, Tomas Rosicky and Abou Diaby - and will have only on spot available when Fabregas returns from injury.

All of Nasri's best performances last season came from him playing on the right!
Spurs 1-4 Arsrenal
Arsenal 2-3 West Brom
Citeh 0-3 Arsenal
Arsenal 2-1 Fulham
Villa 2-4 Arsenal
Birmingham 0-3 Arsenal
Off the top of my head those were the games Nasri performed best in and in all of those games (except vs Birmingham when he started on the left) he played on the right for us. This 'Nasri plays best in the middle' garbage we hear from the media never ceases to amaze me because the only time I have seen him putting in a genuine world class performance playing in CM was when France spanked England at Wembley.
He isn't creative enough to be a CM at Arsenal. I do think he would be a great CM for United though because most of United's creativity comes from the wings so there wouldn't be so much pressure on Nasri to create all the chances playing in the middle. I could see why Fergie would want him (if true) but there isn't a hope in hell we would sell Nasri to United. He can go but not to them, no way!

I want Nasri and Modric. With Sneijder confirming he will be staying in Milan, Sahin gone to Madrid there are not that many world class midfield players left. If we can get both of these for under £50m I will be happy.

What I don't understand is how come man u are paying 16m for young who has 1 year left on contract. But Nasri they are paying 10m! Nasri is worth more than young, he plays regular for France is a champ lge player, plays for a bigger club and has scored more. If man u are paying 16m for young, Nasri should at least be 20m

OP has clearly not watched nasri in the middle for us at all. He is a good attacker but a creator he is not, 1 assist all season? Passing is one of his weakest attributes.

Having seen Nasri at Goodison last season, the ald was a class act, always found space and just wanted to attack. Would question why they would be signing both Young and Nasri though Nani and Valencia outwide and the options of Giggs and Rooney to play off peahead. However, Nasri and Rooney may be a good alternative to Rooney and peahead.
Be surprised if Fergie signs both.

Hmmm. Kinda strange from Fergie. Sidelining Berba, Sidelining Nani, Giving Owen a new deal, Then signing Jones and now Young & he wants Nasri. What on earth is gna happen to Berba and Nani. Id take Nani at Chelsea Quality player.

Hopefully this will be another motive for Nasri to push for a move to us
He will have seen Scholes retire and know that there is a spot perfectly suited for him to full for years to come. How often can a new player expect to be guranteed the playmaker's role at United stragith away
From beign played out wide so much, he has developed many of his attributes such as his dribbling, his goal scoring abilities, off the ball movement but other parts of his game will have stalled such as his passing, dsicipline (defensive) etc.
No doubt he has everything to become at top top CM whether thats at United, Arsenal or wherever he ends up
