I think that the soud of silence on here from the Rose coloured glasses, actually speaks volumes. I just wish that SoD would do the honest thing and resign avoiding the club making continued payments to him.

It would save them making the decision for him. Failing that JR and the Board should act and act NOW to try and stop the rot. That is if they WANT to stop the rot, that might not be the way they see things going.

19 League losses says it all he has failed to inspire those around him. I think all of the players were brought in by SoD, I don't think any are left over from the days before O'Driscoll.

As has been said, it looks as though the players have lost confidence on the field, but also in their manager.

Yesterday was a poor performance. Reading fully deserved the win as they were much better than us, still making them poor.

Of the few positives, apart from that awful goal Sully looked solid enough; again, apart from the goal, Martis looked good. I would also say he's lost a stone at least, which was needed. The simple fact that he has lost that weight while being out demonstrates how much SOD has lost the dressing room .

We lost the game because we played a predictable, pointless high ball for Hayter or Lalkovic whenever we had the ball near the halfway line. Kaspers Gorkks was winning them all the time. It was obviously never going to work. The whole midfield was guilty and none of them had the presence of mind to say "wait a minute, this isn't working".

I neither heard nor saw anything to suggest the fans weren't behind Sean or the team. The fans were great all day.

The team kept trying. There was little argument between them (nothing unusual). Just that stupid, wasteful ball from midfield all the time.

Once a team is on the pitch, a coach is relatively powerless to change what is going on. He can shout at them, he can talk to them at half time, but the players have to do it.

So to answer the question "what's the excuse this week?" Finger points at the midfield I'm afraid. I doubt SOD will have said that. Changing the manager will not change that.

Lost the dressing room? Sorry, my opinion is that unless you sit in on training sessions and are there, youre not in a position to say that. It's just hot air. Nothing I saw substantiated it at all.

When we did keep the ball on the deck, we showed we could match Reading. The last 10 minutes saw us trying this and it brought a hit of the post and a perfect shooting opportunity for Oster, which he didn't accept of course. Perhaps that was plan B although I suspect it was plan A that for some reason the players were reluctant to try.

SOD has always said he has the clubs best interests at heart, he has admitted to having lost the dressing room so it's time for him to be a man if his word, as he was in staying put over last 2 seasons, but on this occasion by doing the honourable thing and stepping aside and resigning.

Thanks for all you've done Sean, but your time has come.

And let's see if the board want to stay in this league or blame the public of Doncuster as JR says, you know - him from Intake, cannot even say DON CAS TER right.

If they keep him then he is scapegoat. no money to pay him off?? No idea more the like - yes had a long drive and cdool down and sat by the sea.

I've just listened to SOD's after match interview. Usual stuff but at the end he waspishly said that he had dropped a, presumably fit, Mustapha Dumbuya because he wouldn't take responsibility. As MD is by far the best young player we have this is not good.

To anyone who argues that SOD has not lost the players, it's either them he has lost or the plot, this us why...

He says the players are not doing what he tells them, that means one of two things, they dont want to do what they are told or can't do what they are told. If it's a case they dont want then he has lost the players. If it's a case they can't do what they are being asked he has lost the plot as a managers job is to know his players and play to their strengths. Either way, as big a fan as I am and have said many a time SOD should not go, I think it is clear he has to go.

....or it could be a lack of confidence preventing anything creative for fear of making the mistake that loses the game...

...or it could be a lack of fitness due to players missing the closed season or having already had a break in this one that they are recovering from.

...or it could be a lack of understanding between players who haven't played together in the league for a while/ever.

...or it could be any combination of those 3.

I realize that all those three are excuses. Not reasons for poor oerformance. Anyone like to tell me the difference?
