Leeds United have either been unbeatable or awful this season. I don't remember a season when our form has been so erratic, to go from the great start to the relegation run back to the form we are on now. When you look a bit deeper, it's the way our fixtures have been set out.
We've won 13 games and only 3 have been against teams in the top half (Ipswich, Bristol, Boro). We've lost 8 and 5 have been against teams in the top half, and you could argue the other 3 were games with a bit more edge to them (Wednesday, Millwall, Jaap Stam's Reading). These stats show us as a good team who can beat the teams below us but struggle against higher teams and doesn't bear well for the playoffs.
February:
Cardiff (H)
Sheff United (A)
Bristol City (H)
Derby (A)
Brentford (H)
Think that's where we'll see what the club can achieve this season.
February will make or break our season

Kind of hoping that because we are fearing the worst w.r.t Feb fixtures we end up being totally surprised.
Have to agree that we have our fair share of average players, Saiz and Pablo excepted.
The free kick yesterday was world class.

....unfortunately we also have several below average - one midfielder springs to mind.

I would say AR’s goal is still the same - better than last season.
He didn’t panic when we were dropping I fount he’s going to panic now we’re climbing, that’s how it should be, make decisions by head not heart.

That old adage that anyone on their day can beat anyone in our league springs to mind. February might just surprise us.

we have a month then to prepare. the team has already surprised to some extent and like liw said with money spent on the right players the team could surprise us even more. sometimes the right addition could make the surrounding players much better. i love berardi but a quality left back would make a world of difference.

for me.
February, and as pointed out a couple of games in March, will be crucial. If we can emerge with 10 - 12 points from those 6 or 7 games, we should be in great position for the final run in.
With similar results as we had during that awful 8 game run, our season will be pretty much over.
The first two games could set the tone for the rest.

A timely reminder that the best - or the worst - is yet to come. However, there is no team, apart from Wolves, that is better than us, and a couple of our losses could easily have gone the other way. Expect Cardiff, Bristol and Sheffield United to fade away. We've got a big chance and with the memory of last season burning in players' minds, I expect us to perform well in the second half of the season.

No doubt February is a big month but with so many games so finely balanced, it will not take much to tip the scales in our favour. Look at the difference Vio has made in just a few weeks. One proven striker, such as Grabban or Waghorn, and that could be enough to take us into the autos.
