Poch loves Sissoko

Don’t expect him to get dropped, let alone sold, anytime soon

What was the OP expecting, loads of enquiries and bids to be leaked for bunch of lower-table players such as Stanislas etc while Poch tells the press Sissoko isn’t wanted?

He’s not good enough, we get it. No point in being angry at the player, be angry at those who brought him in and we’re unable to identify or successfully negotiate for someone better than him. That’s the real issue here surely?

Poch's selection of Sissoko has been consistently costing us points, it's not a scapegoat situation it's genuinely the truth. He needs to understand the difference between what it takes to beat a stronger side, and what it takes to beat a weaker side

Sissoko is ok in big games because he can run into the space they leave in behind and we have less of the ball than usual

But playing him against mid table and relegation battling teams properly hinders us. No space in behind for him to run into, he barely touches the ball, in fact he's just another body on the pitch that his teammates don't trust with the ball

Poch needs to sack off this experiment and just take our loss on this awful signing

I don't think anyone, even Sissoko's biggest supporters on here, disagree with the fact that he needs to stop being started all the time.

That doesn't mean he is at fault for the results that go against us, like he has been constantly blamed for.

oh come on. you cannot honestly believe that he is the reason that we haven't been winning as much? !!!

what about the loss of form of Dier, Dembele, Alli,

the injuries to Wanyama and Rose?

He doesn't contribute positively to our performances or our results. I'm blaming Poch for selecting him so often

Poch deserves the blame often, true. Yet on match threads and articles like this you have poster after poster hysterically slating him as if each game is his fault. That is why people are defending him, he wasn't terrible vs any of the teams he played against recently. Just not what was needed at all.

We've been beating teams comfortably with our main front 4 of Kane, Son, Dele and Eriksen for the past couple of months. Sissoko plays vs West Ham and Southampton and we drop points. It's not scapegoating to believe that he is a detriment to our team. Regardless of the form of other players

I get the fact that he’s of use in certain games, but those games probably account for.... 10% of our games per season?

‘He’s the only one who can transition from attack to defence and defence to attack...’

Suggests to me he’s built for counter-attacking football as most of us have suggested, which isn’t something we need to do often, so why on earth did we pay that much for him? Just makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Again I’ve never disagreed that he isn’t detrimental to the team, as when Dele, Son etc have an off day he won’t pick up the slack. He was probably our third best player against Southampton and still did little of note.

Yet most our bad performances have come due to other factors, not him. Our team was so sick against Southampton that any replacement probably still wouldn’t have helped. Similarly our squad was so poorly selected vs Newport we would have still played bad no matter the Sissoko replacement.

He has been blamed by everyone on here for the results, when it wasn’t his fault and he wasn’t the worst player in either game by a long shot. Hence, scapegoat.
