Rev, I don't think younger fans appreciate just how good some of these players were and also the heartache of Div 2 years and seeing good players exit the club.

Yeah, not like they would have seen anything like that during the last 5-10 years, eh?

Think in those days we had a better chance of bouncing back even though we sold the likes of Sheridan and Snodin. - thought 8 years was an eternity and after 1990 hoped we would never see those days again - well that came true didn't it!

Rev, seeing Connor, Sheridan, Wright, Lukic, Seaman, Irwin exit the club was gut wrenching. Having Clarke and Bremner from the great side still around the club as well as Gray and Lorimer made it even worse as they were all reminders of how great we had been and how far we had fallen.
This time around it has been so long and the game has changed so much in our absence from the Prem that we've seen the likes of Bournemouth eclipse us.
The other day some kids at school I do tennis at asked me who I support, you get the usual, Arsenal, chelsea, man u, then you get man city, swansea, leicester. No not in the premier, try again, they have no clue, northern team, liverpool, huddersfield. You say Leeds, they are clueless. You have same situation 10 years ago, they either mention Leeds or eyes light up with recognition when you say Leeds, club have to get their skates on.

That's the long and short it Jonty - whole generation of young fans completely lost and ultimately the youngsters are the long term future of the club.

Don't worry, when I have kids in the next few years they will no choice in the matter when it comes to who they support

geldard, there should be no choice anyway, you should support the team you were born / brought up closest too, we all hate the fact that man united have so many none-manchester fans - same applies.
anyone who supported Leeds, not from Leeds, back in the Revie days are nothing but glorified Man United fans of today....

I was born in Leeds so I'm stuck with it even though miles away now, but I know loads of Leeds fans that were hooked in the old days and still follow the club.
By the way I may not get a chance to get to Leeds as much as I would like but my love for the City and the club will go with me to the grave.
