Well I certainly have never argued that we couldn’t do well without another striker but what I and virtually every other Wolves fan has argued is that in that position and right wing back we don’t have natural cover, and for a club that is not short of cash that’s a risk that is not necessary to take. We were foiled at the last minute in trying to bring in Locadia in the summer and have brought in Mir and Afobe in this winter so I presume the club feel the same. I am certain Thelwell not Nuno proposed Afobe, I am also certain that the deal would not have gone through without Nuno’s support

Changing the subject I can’t believe any team in the country has had as many players sent off against them as Wolves have had this season. Also can’t imagine Wolves have ever had as many in their history. Surely unprecedented

yes, 7 or 8 red cards against us...and probably half as many that should have been given but weren't. we really are too good for this league

I have to disagree with you about Mir, cinci. We paid 1m for him and I believe he was intended to be "cover" for Bonatini. We got Afobe at the last minute, literally and he seems to have fallen behind Afobe in the pecking order. It's quite a risk to take if, by your suggestion, he wasn't intended for any games this season.

Until we NEED to start either Afobe or Mir ahead of the current incumbents I think assessments are premature.

I agree with that wulfrun and we can only comment on what we have seen which isn't very much. But I feel Bonatini is more suited to the way we play than Afobe, and I don't think Afobe or Mir have done enough in the games they have played to warrant game time ahead of Jota, Costa, Cavaleiro or Bonatini. And we know all about Afobe anyway and there wont be any surprises to come from him. He can score goals at this level, has struggled in the Premier League, and his all round game is limited. He has gone from 5th choice at Bournemouth to 5th choice at Wolves but I still think signing him on loan is a good move, although from what little we have seen I think there is a real possibility his game has gone backwards since he was here last time. Personally I wouldn't sign him outright even if he does end up scoring a few in the next 3 months, I think there will be many better players available to us.

Whereas we haven't seen much of Gibbs White either but what we have seen has been impressive and his sub appearances would certainly have earned him more game time if we selected him

would have been rank bad management bearing in mind the brutal treatment jota, cav and costa get every week to have not taken out a £3mill insurance policy to cover their possible abscence.
nunu doesnt do bad management

Also have to say about Gibbs White, he came on to the pitch at half time at Preston for a kick around with Afobe and Norris, and he looks such a talented player. His touch and ball control is exceptional and he certainly wouldn't look out of place alongside our Portugese superstars. Wonder if Nuno would give him a chance ahead of N'Diaye and Saiss

Maybe give him a start if and when promotion is secured. He's so easy on the eye when on the ball and I hope he can blossom into a top player.

We may have got Afobe at the last minute but we were in talks for weeks on and off.

And Mir was definitely not the intended back up
