Defence the difference today

Solid performances all round and a clean sheet against a free-scoring team. Vast improvement on our last game against Brentford.

Made me laugh when okane had an easy shooting chance and he passed it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
O'Kane failing to shoot from the edge of the box was absolutely incredible. Ball was rolling lovely towards him and not across him to be hit first time. Lacking in confidence or ability if he does not think he can hit the target from there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He must be aware that the fans are on his back then.

He obviously bottled the shot. Can't imagine it's because he wasn't able, so must be because he's afraid of turning up the heat on himself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely and therefore has no future at this club.
We need players who are prepared to take responsibility, not weak minded players who hide. Rather play a poor pass out wide and be a nobody than try and smash the ball home and be a hero. He has turned down a number of shooting oppositions this season but this was his best chance yet - it was perfect for hitting.
Weak in the tackle, weak in the mind.
Can share Wiedwalds taxi to the airport.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What we need is supporters going to support and back the players, not destroy their confidence. Getting on your players back is not the way to get promoted, and it surely doesn't look good to any prospective new signings.

There was a defender in front of him. I think he has not played well this last few months but this constant slaying of him is negative and not good for the team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course there was a defender in front of him after he took the poor decision of taking a touch instead of smashing into the back of the rigging first time.

As for slaying him its unlikely he is reading this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why - is this the only forum (on or off line) that is on his back?!? We have a job to do and I thin as fans we are a goal lead or a goal behind sometimes.

The fans generally start every game well.
Personally I thought the fans were good yesterday. Most of their unfounded anger was aimed at the referee again. O'Kane has to my knowledge never been roundly booed by leeds fans. Only cries of frustration when he gives the ball away in his own third (usually at least once a game). Possible individual hecklers close to the pitch too? It's impossible to make every fan sing and cheer on leeds every game - it is what it is and 14 seasons of garbage take it's toll. Getting completely outplayed for 30 minutes against brentford who have continually sold all their players is hard to take.

If O'Kane comes away from the ground and reads social media all week then granted his confidence will be knocked. Id suggest instead he tries spending some of his unwarranted wages and enjoys his life.

Nobody should boo players but if they have a bad game we have every right to criticise. The amount of times O'Kane gives the ball away is embarassing, it's like he passes with his eyes closed.

Not good enough....thankfully we have Forshaw.

Going forwards has to be a Forshaw-Phillips partnership for me. Vieira out of form and O'Kane out of his depth.

I’ve said before I think viera is overrated.

I’m not even sure I believe that he is off form.

I just think he ain’t as good as some people think he is.

I liked that we brought on Ekuban and Sacko for the last 10 minutes or so. It gave us the opportunity to stretch the game and give Brentford something to think about, rather than just retreating deeper and deeper.

In reality they only broke forward a few times, but it's much better game management. The threat was always there.

Agree with this. TC woulda taken Lassoga off, then again he wasn't as fit as he is now perhaps. I think those two make pretty decent impact subs

Err, Shaun, Lasogga was taken off yesterday.

But when all is said and done Philips snd o’kane chosen as starters and we get a result. Must be s reason why multiple coaches are choosing this pair.

Forshaw would have played if available. Very much forced on PH that combination. Right to drop RV though - he’s been poor since he came back in.
