Conte.. soon or end of the season?

When do you think our board will get rid?

Soon? Over the next few games?

Or at the end of the season like everyone seems to think?

Now I have to say that I feel him and Jose were dealt similar hands by the board over the summer with the transfer policy but I'm not going to talk about that as it's boring now.

I want to talk about his odd substitutions and team selections...

The Barcelona game, now I thought that starting with no striker was a good idea and actually it almost paid off and probably should have done but the 2 substitutions annoyed me that he did, Morata.. why? I have to say he annoys me, he's just too weak and like I saw on another post he spends more time complaining on the floor over nothing challenges than focusing on his game. The reason why it annoyed me is because Giroud has had a few good games since coming in and Conte has done it again where he stops playing the player, just like with Batshuyai when he was doing well Conte dropped him. No wonder he looked poor, Conte probably ruined his confidence!

The second substitution could be heard of groans throughout the ground, Drinkwater for Fabregas, now, I'm not so sure about Fab sometimes because he's either effective or not, he never has a run of the mill game, he's like marmite, so why when he was having a great game against Barcelona with 8 mins to go was he taken off for Drinkwater when like I said about a minute into him coming on instead of attacking he turns his back and plays a back pass and you could hear the Chelsea fans complain, Conte basically just killed any chance of us attacking after that sub and that was probably how everyone else felt in the ground.

The United game line up, Drinkwater? Why? Morata? Why? I get Morata in a weird way but why didn't he start with no striker like the Barcelona game? Or why didn't he go for Giroud?

Now don't be stupid and take this article as a Conte out but I don't get these subs and decisions he makes and he's been making them all season, this is just 2 examples as they're so recent.

Also, I think top 4 is done for us now, I can't see us getting anything off City and we'll be out the champions league unsurpinsgly in a couple of weeks.

The question is, where does that leave Conte?

And Also, who on earth would we realistically get in? Allegri maybe? Who knows what's next on the Chelsea merry go round

The Barca game is a likely lose. ..he won't be judged on that...top 4 is the key now...

FA cup and 5th will be failure

What has been consistent almost all last season and pretty much through this one is that when we win Conte is a brilliant strategist and makes the right subs. When we lose he is clueless.
For me me the clueless part has been the Costa saga, how initially it looked like a clever plan to everyone, even I had to agree...but in the meantime we desperately miss Costa or the strength and passion he brought in. And the goals....So now not so brilliant a strategy after all, and Conte was responsible for that putting his pride in as priority to maintaining a winning team. A win v City and Barca will have us all talking him up again....

No Tway I agree with you but some of the defeats this season such as losses versus Burnley,Bournemouth,Watford,Crystal Palace and Arsenal have been unacceptable in my opinion. The way Chelsea made Watford and Bournemouth look like Barcelona was even more worrying.I have been saying this from the start of the season that Conte's substitutions leave a lot to be desired.Problem is that he makes substitutions too late to have any impact and some of them are juat needless and plain stupid.I want him to stay but I think he will win FA Cup and finish fourth or at best third with Chelsea this season and we might still reach the semifinal or even the final with Antonio Conte. Most likely,Chelsea will win FA Cup this season,Chelsea will exit Champions League at Nou Camp and Chelsea will finish 4th.We have lost too many games which we should have won.We should have won v Arsenal but we drew the match in Premiership,we should have at least drawn v Watford but we lost 4-1 and we should have won v Barcelona last week. Also,we should have beaten Arsenal in Carabao Cup semifinal which we lost.Pedro and Giroud need to play more and Bakayoko should be permanently benched.

Id rather Arsenal catch us up (if we don't finish 4th) as with no Europe we could potentially win the league again.

I would take the FA Cup and 6th place.. Win a trophy and just be din with this season, Its been pretty mediocre and we've lost to some terrible sides in Burnley, Palace, Watford, Bournemouth, Utd and Arsenal in the semi-final.

I don't have a problem with conte's line ups(when bakayoko is out the team)but his in game management is one of the poorest, if not the poorest since Roman took over.

Players who are having an off game, I mean a REALLY off game, are not replaced. Hazard replaced the other day and morata lasting the game the other day made me question conte's sanity. Giroud needs to start getting games now. I'm fed up of morata. Let these players fight for their place like they use to have to. Not get in because they were a big signing.

id rather be in europe than not thanks we could win the Europa and have 2 chances to get back into the Champions league

doesnt matter who is the manager at the end of the day, its largely the boards fault

time for roman to sell up i think, has taken us as far as he can

Don't know if you can blame the board for recent results mons. All seems to fall to the manager and players.

He repeatedly plays bakayoko. Plays morata out of form and injured. Subs off players at the wrong times. Is slow to react to problems.

Never in my life have i been less confident of coming back into games.

no thats born from a manager who clearly doesnt give a chit

shouldnt have been in charge, therefore the board lacked any kind of vision for the club

both parties are to blame but the board have the power to change it

All conjecture, bakayoko apparently was touted by conte, as was morata. The guy has been given funds. We don't know who does the signings but it's all well and good pointing blame. But with this current squad we should be beating watford and bournemouth. Instead he plays our worst ever player etc and that falls on his lap.
