So I’ve been actually thought of this for a while now, probably a couple of years at least, but I’ve never sought to get opinions or feedback regarding it.
With football pundits everywhere nowadays; TV, radio, podcasts, social media and newspaper columns, they’re always going to have their say on different players, different teams, the managers, the tactics and anything else they get asked about or that springs to mind. However more and more I’ve noticed a trend that seems to be growing:
“I can’t stand (insert pundit name), he’s never got anything nice to say about us...."
“He played for (insert team name) so his opinion on us doesn’t matter..."
“They’re always harder on us yet they let (insert team name) off for the exact same thing..."
“The media think the sun shines out of (insert manager name) backside anyway, so they let him get away with it...."
What is it with all the sensitive souls everywhere who get so upset that their team or manager gets criticised or doesn’t get the praise they think is due? Over the last few weeks I’ve seen a United fan say he doesn’t like pundits who don’t have nice things to say about United, but like a pundit who doesn’t criticise them, an arsenal fan complain that they get slated for defeats while everyone else gets a free pass and I’m sure there have been some spurs and Liverpool fans on here pulling out the violins with all the woe-is-me stuff. Why?
I get that you support your team, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to get so upset that a pundit says something unfavourable about the club.
Do you feel as though your team needs universal admiration or accolades for what they’re doing?
For me the pundits will say what they want to say, probably because that’s how they see it. I might not agree with what they say but it is what it is - not fussed.
Genuinely intrigued to hear people’s thoughts on this....

I quite like analysis of the game, they often point out things I have missed. The opinions I can take or leave, but they don't bother me either way.

I enjoy analysis and reading or hearing pundits views and thoughts on matters. Doesn’t matter if I agree with what they’ve said or think it’s laughable, I don’t start feeling my team is being persecuted by the evil media who’ve got it in for us.
I just don’t understand why people get so hurt, angry or offended by an opinion that isn’t necessarily flattering or positive about their club.

He can talk sense at times, watched him on The debate a few times when he was on. Made himself look a right fool when he was saying Aguero shouldn’t have been in Amsterdam for that concert when the car crashed. Danny Mills had to explain to him a car can crash anywhere at anytime and that players can’t be housebound when they’re not training or playing

Yes Danny murphy was the culprit.
