Forest V Robbins Match Thread

City have failed to capitalise on their early season form and now sit in 10th.

Both teams playing for pride as I can't see them scrabbling into that 6th spot.

A Karanka Forest team will come out and put a shift in. At Ashton Gate we didn't start playing before we had gone two down.

Lets hope it warms up!

Colback was tidy and won the ball well. Just unfortunate that him and Bouchalakis were doing the same job when Forest needed someone a bit more forward thinking. I don’t think Forest should be breaking the bank for Colback as he is decent but noting outstanding in this league and will want a king’s ransom I would have thought.

Let’s hope Karanka is the man with the plan. There are lots of bits and pieces in the Forest squad but a few vital ones that are clearly missing.

If we started with brereton we would have won. Not that breretons prolific but it’s was worse than being a man down with Murphy upfront.

He didn’t run, even for second balls he should have been first to.
He didn’t jump.
Won one ball upfront when only being marked by one man.

It’s a massive shame as the same man 6 months ago had the quality to get teams promoted. Now though

He appeared to be either very unfit or unmotivated. One of this issues could be sorted in pre-season.

Once he had that coming together with Flint in the first half, he backed away and Flint dominated him.

Wouldn’t have mattered if Tomlin hadn’t telegraphed his penalty.

I was thinking same about Colback. Looked a very good player at Newcastle and has done ok for us but if Watson is a guaranteed starter then is the best partner? Think Bridcutt could be a key player next season though

I’ve been more impressed with Bridcutt of late. He was the most forward thinking midfielder when he came on today. I would say he is more than justifying being a big part of Karank’s plans.

A very fitting touch by Karanka to allow Cohen on for the last five minutes up front. A shame he didn’t really got for it and put him on for the penalty. He could have put more oomph in it even with his dodgy knees!

A bit late in the day for replying to this but, I believe, you can make a substitute before a penno is taken but the sub cannot take the penno.

At least I think that's the rule, could be wrong though.

Probably true, Bosque.
