Probably still saf’s greatest European achievement. The cl’s were with a Man Utd squad filled with expensive signings (and also in 99 a huge amount of homegrown talent), but in 83 he conquered Europe with a team of unfancied Scots, in some style too, beating sion 11-1 on aggregate, Bayern Munich, smashing 5 past a semi finalist, and Real Madrid. Very impressive stuff.
