Strange that no one (to my knowledge anyway) has picked up on the fact that there is a strange symmetry about the rare occasions in Scottish Football history when a team has needed a Scottish Cup win to seal the double treble.
April 11th, 1970
A domestically dominant (having just completed 5 in a row league titles) Celtic team were hot favourites to defeat an Aberdeen side, captained by Martin Buchan. Sadly (certainly for this then 13 year old supporter who stood on the North Enclosure barely seeing more than half of the pitch) - Aberdeen ran out 3-1 winners

May 21st, 1994

A domestically dominant (having just completed 7 in a row league titles) Celtic team are hot favourites to defeat a Motherwell side, captained by Carl McHugh.
There is a good reason why no team in Scotland has ever done the double treble - it is not easy. I expect Saturday to be a difficult game and one which, if we're not on our game, we could easily lose. That said, if we do win, I expect fantastic celebrations at a Sunny Hampden and then at Paradise the following day for Broony's testimonial

Motherwell could cause Celtic problems if they can keep the game scrappy.
A cup final like the Kilmarnock one a few years back now would be ideal
