Various countries have announced their squads for the World Cup, France had their turn today.
Goalkeepers:
Lloris, Mandanda, Areola
Defenders:
Sidibe, Pavard, Rami, Varane, Umtiti, Kimpembe, Hernandez, Mendy
Midfielders:
Matuidi, Pogba, Tolisso, Kante, N’zonzi
Forwards:
Griezmann, Dembele, Mbappe, Giroud, Thauvin, Fekir, Lemar
Some real strength in depth from them to choose from when you consider they’ve left out the likes of:
Laporte
Sakho
Lenglet
Kurzawa
Rabiot
Coman
Martial
Payet (struck by injury after he jinxed himself by touching the trophy)
Lacazette
... but the notable omission from that list is Sissoko
Last summer he dug his heels in and announced he had no interest in leaving, but surely missing out on the World Cup will jolt something in him and make him accept it’s time for him to move on?
Nothing personal against him, but he’s a very limited footballer who cost us a lot of money, I’m don’t believe that Mike Ashley is stupid enough to accept £6m from us for every year that we keep him, so it’s best for both parties that he takes the snub as a sign and hits the bricks. None of this parasite stuff that Bogarde did to the chaavs all those years ago - get him out!!!

One player of tha midfield (likely to be Matuidi) will have to give way to Fekir IMO. He's the one who with little bit of creativity in that group of player.

Deschamps is a weird caant. The kind of weird caant that took Gignac to the Euros when there were like 10 better French forwards that didn't make the squad. How da fack did Rabiot not make the WC squad? He's better than Nzonzi and Tolisso and faaaar better than Matuidi.
If only to increase the white quota in the squad, he should have made it.Those National Front supporters won't be happy.

The midfield lacks creativity for me. Only really Pogba and maybe Tolisso you’d look to in terms of getting the game flowing for them. A lot of power in there, maybe he just wants the front 3/4 to do all the work, but I’d definitely found a spot for Rabiot in the squad.
He’s named 11 players on standby including Zouma and Sakho, but no Laporte

France' biggest weakness since Zidane retired is the lack of a playmaker who can put his foot on the ball and add some continuity and cohesion and control to their game. Too many similar box-to-box types in their middle.

And Lemar is a bit of a fraud. Can't believe Arsenal and Liverpool almost paid ridiculous money for him. Not even cutting it in the French league this season, yet made the French squad. Payet is a vastly superior player in every way to him. Hell, Martial and Coman are better than him. I can only hope Payet's exclusion was because of his injury, cos he's been brilliant.

Lemar has been great whenever he has played for France and whilst he hasn't been great for Monaco, is still scoring or assisting less than one in 3 this season.
I think Lemar will walk away from this world cup with his reputation well and truly solidified as one of the best young players in Europe.

If he plays. Fekir should be ahead of him, and wouldn't even be surprised in Dembele does. Giroud could also be brought into a front 3 with Griezmann and Mbappe, The lowest profile attacker they've brought in, Thauvin, has had an excellent season. Lemar's past form for France shouldn't matter: afterall, Wilshere who has played well in the past for England was deservingly left out of the team.

Lemar’s impressed when playing for France. His understanding with Mbappe is also something that shouldn’t be underestimated. How they set up will be interesting as they have really good options in attack, but the midfield could become an issue despite the talents of Pogba and Kante.
