Double Treble

So there ye go history being made right in front of our very eyes.

It was a performance that summed up Rodgers time here, first half was like his 1st season we were all over them like a rash, played some nice football, scored some great goals

2nd half was more like this season we were quite pedestrian, allowed them a few half chances and the game kinda petered out.

The scenes after the game looked very special indeed, Celtic way was bouncing and the players who had looked a bit dejected after last weeks trophy presentation were clearly in awe of what was happening.

Few points on some of the players

Lustig - Had a poor season which reached its lowest point at Pittodrie when he was sent off, we never seen him for a few weeks but since he came back into the side I think he's performed very well. He loves the club and you could see how much it meant to him and his family.

Boyata - Another top performance, I hope we get him tied down on a new deal, another who looks like he loves playing under Rodgers and for the fans.

Brown - He was sensational, He is a Celtic legend, the video of him I nthe huddle before the game gave me goosebumps A worthy champion and our greatest captain since McNeil.

McGregor - Yet another big goal and what a goal it was, if it wasn't for Brown being so good he would've walked away with POTY, he's a starter for us now.

Dembele - Unplayable at times, should've had a penalty and a few goals. Could he end up staying?? He's certainly giving off good vibes. If he could and we could get Edouard over the line I think he'll be ready to read the line the season after next.

JFK - if Paddy had scored the goal Jamesie did against Rangers, you'd still be raving about it. Let's be honest, you don't like the lad - any praise is always grudging. Thankfully our manager can see what JF brings to the team

i think forrest on his day is a really good player, my problem is that he, imo, downs tools like stokes used to.

works hard to get back to being first pick, downs tools when he is.

his goal against rangers was his first and imo one of, if not the first, really good game he has had against them.

thought he was immense against munich as well though, my problem with forrest is that he is better than he shows and it bugs the schit out of me

It will be interesting to see what sort of career Paddy goes on to have.

I suspect it won't live up to a lot of peoples expectations, including his own..

How can you even compare him to Stokes?

Even when Jamesie is having a bad game, he still works hard - he never "downs tools" imho.

You're as entitled to your opinion as I am, my friend. We're both ST holders - but I really think you're harsh on JF

he goes quiet too often for me.

works hard, cements his place, the effort drops. everytime.

i think he is a good player, but he's nowhere near a paddy roberts.

Great OP 👍 We can all be happy to bask in the successes we have had this season. It was good to hear BR say after the cup final that we must do better and will look to strengthen to ensure we kick on fir next season. That’s what we all want 👏👏👏
