World Cup Groups Stages - Who Needs What?

Group A

Russia and Uruguay are through. Russia just need to avoid defeat to Uruguay in the final game to win the group

Whoever tops the group plays the runners up of Group B and the runners up will play Group B's winners


Group B

Spain and Portugal top the group with 4 points while Iran have 3 points. A draw for Spain sends them through, same with Portugal.

If Spain lose then they need Portugal to beat Iran by more than they lose by. If both lose then whoever gets beat by the most goes out - they are currently on the same points, goal difference, goals scored.


Group C

France are through. Denmark need just a draw with France to go through which would also see France top the group. If Denmark win they they'll top the group.

For Australia to go through they need to win and Denmark to lose and then have a better goal difference.

Whoever tops the group plays the runners up of Group D and the runners up will play Group D's winners


Group D

Croatia have qualified and only need a point in their final game with Iceland to top the table. Nigeria will qualify if they beat Argentina or if they draw and Iceland do not beat Croatia.

Argentina need to beat Nigeria and hope Croatia beat Iceland. If Iceland beat Croatia then they need to beat Nigeria by 2 more goals.


Group E

Brazil just need to draw with Serbia to go through. Switzerland are through if they beat Costa Rica or there is a winner in the Brazil v Serbia game.

If Switzerland lose by one goal and Serbia draw then it will go to goals scored.

Whoever tops the group plays the runners up of Group F and the runners up will play Group F's winners


Group F

Mexico are through if they draw or Germany don't beat South Korea.

Sweden are through if they better Germany's result.

German will go through if they win by two or more goals or just better Sweden's result.

South Korea can still qualify if they beat Germany by a bigger margin than a Sweden defeat.


Group G

England and Belgium are through. England have better goals scored at present.

Whoever tops the group plays the runners up of Group H and the runners up will play Group H's winners


Group H

Japan and Senegal only need to draw their games to qualify.

Colombia go through if they beat Senegal. If Colombia win then Japan need only lose by fewer goals than Senegal.
