Anyone done this?
I am planning to do the 50 mile classic this year with a mate who lost his mother to MND.
Before I register I was wondering if its worth getting the gold pass?
Also once you arrive in edinburgh is there places to put the bikes to go for a pint?
Should we go for the £20 bus option back to glasgow which brings the bikes back too? Can you drop the bikes off for the bus and go for a few pints in edinburgh and get a later bus?
Thanks for any help.

Should be a good 100 mike route, I’m in France otherwise I would have been interested. It’s onky about 7,000ft of climbing

Just finished the Hebridean Way and can confirm that a sore arsse is the main issue. May have been because of the massive rucksack though. One day should be fine on the arrse though. There's a massive problem with bikes getting stolen in Edinburgh at the moment so don't leave it anywhere, even with the most secure locks.

Thanks lads. Just gonna do the 50 miles. Don’t think my erse could handle 100 miles.
I’m more concerned with the logistics of getting a pint afterwards without losing my bike. Hoping a can just dump it with the bus company and pick it up in Glasgow later on when I’m slightly inebriated. 🤔

Get a pair of padded shorts for your erse. Get them in most cycle shops . Decathlon do them nice and cheap.
Was waking like John Wayne for weeks after getting into cycling . First time in a bike in about 15 years and by feck I felt it. Used to it now tho so don’t use the shorts anymore but I’d defo suggest them if your not a regular cyclist over decent distance
