Player Departures You Were Gutted About..

Which players departures from your club have left you most gutted in the past?

For me it has to be when Keane left for Liverpool, he was my favourite player as a kid. However it turned out all right because despite selling him for £20m, we bought him back for £12m a year later - essentially a season long loan for the cost of £8m.

I was too young to remember Campbell to Arsenal, although I'm sure that will be nearly every Spurs fans answer.

Ince and Hughes were big but I was never worried as had full trust in 🐽face. He decided they were leaving and that was enough for me.

Cantona I was worried, even more so than Ronaldo.

For me it was when Xavi retired. Absolute hero of mine.

I was sad even as a Madrid fan to see Xavi leave, and it would've been more of a fairytale story if he'd seen out his playing days in a Barça shirt, but it did feel like it was time for him to go.

This is a proud proud Catalan - I remember seeing Casillas' debut for Real. We knew he was special too!

Mark Hughes

Who knew what a journey we were about to go on.

Was more gutted about Ince and Kanchelskis personally. Hughes was a legend but getting on; plus, we'd already replaced him with Cole.

Diego Costa recently!

Maybe Costa was toxic for the dressing room. I know Chelsea won stuff with him in the team but we don't know what went behind closed doors. For some reason Conte was keen to get rid of him despite him being a great striker, I don't think it was for footballing reasons.

Funny that all the players who joined Chelsea from Atlético's title-winning side never really seem to have been happy in London and look like ending up back in Madrid.

It would be more fitting if Courtois returned to Atleti, but I'd be delighted to have him at Madrid.

Probably we'll never know the full story. Perhaps as you suggest there is some major issue at Chelsea that has never come to light.
