Gini Wijnaldum

Not seen in the squad for tonight’s match.

I’m wondering if he’s surplus to requirements now. Personally I think he went missing in too many games last season to be able to compete with the players we have now.

What are your views on him? Is he good enough to stay on or would you let him go????

Paper tiger, too timid for someone of his ability, absolutely took the p i ss out of Arsenal i think it was? shows what he can do on the ball at times can carry it dribbling and comitt defenders out but too often rather shift responsibility 5 yards sideways or backwards, very frustrating. On the other hand hes another work horse so even when being a lil biíatch hes usually a 5/10 for effort alone.

The way he schooled Ramsey last season I thought he had really turned the corner but that ability he had just never seems to come out enough. He’s going to struggle against Keita and Fabinho IMO.

looks better when hes confident runs with the ball and plays forward, but far too often hes like a shy little lamb.

I hope not, hes not a bad player at all, performed well in the big games. We'll actually be 1 midfielder down if we sell him since ox is injured compared to last season squad, i dont want another repeat of having no midfielders on the bench at a crucial time of the season.

Will only make sense if we are buying Fekir.

and considering we were concerned enough to cancel a deal because of his medical i'd still like him kept

Thought Wijnaldum had a good season and particularly impressed me when he had to step up when Henderson and Can were out. A really good squad player who can fill in all midfield roles.

He was a one highly rated youngster. Think he made his debut at a young age. Shame that the best he's reached is a squad player.

Wij is a fantastic player who can play more than one position. He rarely loses the ball and can get amongst the goals. I Think next season we will see him play more on the left like he did at newcastle

Doesn't make mistakes, seems scared to do so tbh, not a risk taker but that's not what's he's there for I guess.

I think he doesn't get involved enough and can just sort of float through games without having much impact but he's reliable and steady, exactly what you want out of a rotation CM
