Captain Curtis

No big surprise here, but nice to have it confirmed:

Now if Lamps can just get shot of that lumbering plastic Paddy alongside Davies we can finally start the #WGT2019 campaign in earnest.

How come we all loved Bucko who was half the player Keogh is?
He was also at fault at Wembley but during his time with us he didn't get any stick?
I have a problem with players who don't try like Ince and Vydra. Both extremely gifted players but if you look at Keogh he has taken what little the Good Lord gave him and forged a living in the championship. I appreciate that. If only the likes of the other two I've mentioned had Keogh's attitude they'd be playing at the top of the Prem.
He's a firm favourite with me and a better player without the armband (which he has never sulked about losing)
If someone better comes in Keogh will tip his hat and look elsewhere for football. I guarantee he won't sit out his contract like others I could mention.

Nobody wants you to change your attitude. At least I don't. But surely for all the managers who have managed Keogh (Including for his international team). They cannot all be wrong. Keogh is by no means perfect. And I never thought he was a good captain. But most on here and his managers think he is a good defender. The fact that no club has wanted to buy him is neither here nor there. The majority of professional footballers sit in that category simply because that is not how business is done. Players generally need to be transfer listed for another club can be said to want to buy him.

I think I and your fellow 606'ers just want you to see these awkward facts surrounding him. Sometimes he has a good game - sometimes not so good. But during his presence in a Derby team He has performed really well ofter earning the accolade of MOTM.

Attitude change was mostly being wished on 666 because he is far more virulent and unreasonable in his attitude toward Keogh. Just spite for the sake of it.

Is this team hug time.?

It doesn't make much sense to say managers have no choice than to play Keogh. In recent years our managers have spent millions on replacements for existing players, and have let others run down their contracts or simply leave them out of the team altogether in the hope they will leave. It's happening right now to many players. Keogh, though, has had his contracted extended twice since his original 3-year contract in 2012. Every manager has had him as first choice apart form the brief period last season where Pearce came in and AJ told us all that we would never see Keogh playing again because Pearce was far better. Pearce then demonstrated his limitations and when Keogh came back in the defence improved, in my opinion.

On goals: Davies scored 1 last season and 4 in 123 for Hull. Keogh scored 1 last season and has 7 in 259 for Derby overall. Shackell had 2 in 100 for Derby. So all about the same then. Bucko was an exception, prolific for us though not so much for Burton - he scored 11 in 139 for us. Players like Roy McFarland are the exception with very good scoring records. Flint gets lots of goals but he gives away a lot aswell. John Terry scored only 1 last season and John Stones has only 1 in his career. Goalscoring centre halves are the exception. Managers tend to look at how well they do the basics of marking, positioning, blocking and clearing, and every manager Keogh has played under appears to have thought that he is very good at these things. Of course, anybody is at liberty to say that all of these managers have got it all wrong or to concoct some spurious reason that "they had no choice", just as I am free to point out that as arguments go, there are few thinner.

Have you seen Rich's latest interview on Rams tv ?
He's had his eyebrows expertly fashioned to give him an even more enhanced look of permanent shock.

And if you want to know what the current manager thinks of Mr Keogh, I suggest you watch Frank's latest interview

They are false Ang, no one has eyebrows like that except pantomime villains.

I thought they might be tattooed on ?

I don't think they have perfected 3D tattoos yet. Rest assured that when they do, there will be fat ugly blokes in shorts with 3D tattoos on their legs.

You are absolutely entitled to your opinions and may hold on to them till the cows come home. But Keogh is an outstandingly good centre back. I never rated him as a skipper, but as a tackler and a blocker and a header of the ball and as a distributor - he is better by far than most in the Championship

Had a bit of a nightmare against Reading. Sure it's a one off.

Still.....Keogh, Keogh, Keogh.
