Arsenal buying poor or Destroying Players

You may have noticed how little value there is in our current squad. It really is so bad that if you put a realistic transfer value of all the players in the traditional top 6 clubs we will be dead last.

Have we just been buying utterly rubbish players these last few years? Or do they join us and then become rubbish

Asides Sanchez, which player have we bought that has gone on to be worth more than when we signed them?
I'll give you Ramsey, going from £5m to £30m, the Ox from £12m to £40m and Giroud from £12m to £18 after so many years with us.
Ox and Walcott probably only went for as much as they did because they are British.

Even with Sanchez, he went for a pittance due to his contract situation
Lucas Perez - Bought £17m, struggling to sell for £7m
Mustafi - Bought £35m, reportedly willing to sell for £23m
Mesut Ozil - Bought £45m, 6months to contract end and still no one came for his signature with any serious bids. currently worth nothing worthwhile.
David Ospina - Bought £3.2m, reportedly on the market for less
Callum Chambers - Bought £16m, won't even fetch up to half of that in the current market
Danny Welbeck - Bought £16m, only his nationality will help us get anything near that figure
Granit Xhaka - Bought £30m, certainly isn't worth that much currently
Mathieu Debuchy - Bought £12m, left for nothing
Gabriel Paulista - Bought £11.5m sold for £11m

Lacazette and Aubameyang have done nothing to prove they are currently worth more than we paid for them.

Even the Academy players who we sing their praises often. We are barely able to sell any of them for anything near 5m.
Benik Afobe left for £2m and his value went up to £10m within a year

Right now, no one even care about any of our players.
This is one of those summers were we do not have any big names we care about being linked to other clubs.

Meanwhile for some reason, Chelsea seem to be seliing players for really stupid money.
David Luiz - 50m to PSG
Oscar - 60m
Diego Costa - 57m
Matic - 40m
Mata - 37m

They are even able to sell their youth, dross and fringe players for ridiculous money
Ramires - 25m
Nathan Ake - 20m
Ryan Betrand - 10m
Betrand Traore, Demba Ba, Papy Djilobodji for 8m each
Patrick Bamford - £6m
Felipe Luis - 11m
Juan Cuadrado - £17.3m
Andre Schurrle - 22m

Looking at all these numbers, it is very obvious that we have been truly atrocious this past few years.

They all played under Wenger. You can't value them for at least a full season under Emery. IF he can get the best out of them ( or dump the one's who are beyond help ) then we will see what they are worth. In any case, it's a team game, price tags don't score goals or win matches. Be patient.
Also , Choice is correct..and if there had been enough CFC's around in the century before Titanic set out on her maiden voyage, there would have been no ice-berg to hit! True, there would probably have been no New-York to sail to, but hey! Swings and roundabout John.

Love the contradiction of slamming Arsenal for selling players at a loss then praising Chelsea for selling Felipe Luis and Cuadrado at a loss.

Our player development, followed by our business methods, be it wage negotiation or player recruitment has been mostly atrocious since the takeover in 2012.

I think its no coincidence that this is meant the removal of Wenger and maybe now Gazidis.

Lucas Perez going to west Ham for £4M!

There is definitely soemthing wrong with the way we sell our players. Other shiiter players have been sold for much more than, especially in the PL.
Watch Welbeck. I'm sure he will go for less than £5m, depsite being British.

Don't complain about the prices they're going for. It's a reflection of the lack of playing time and a book balancing exercise.

Ultimately it's freeing up much needed wage budget, leaving us able to pursue Marquee signings in the next two windows. Unlike Chelsea and co, WE can actually afford to let players go that cheap, just to free up wages. Because in most cases they were dirt cheap to buy anyway.
