Spurs to consider offers for trio

.... according to Sky Sports.

“Tottenham will consider any potential offers for Toby Alderweireld, Moussa Dembele and Danny Rose in this window"

“Spurs are understood to be in the market for two players this window, with Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish one of them"

“But the other incoming is reliant on who they manage to sell"

—————-

This could all be media talk, but then again this could be stuff you or I could have worked out within about 2 mins, but my point is this:

WHAT THE ACTUAL FACK IS GOING ON?

You wouldn’t know we’d finished 3rd, 2nd and 3rd in the last 3 seasons by the way we go about our business. If we want to be an elite club; act like one. Not just off the pitch with the new elite stadium, not just on the pitch either while being an absolute mess in the boardroom - everywhere.

Where is the organisation?
Where is the structure?
Where is the forward planning?
Where is the proactivity?

The club have all season to weigh up who is indispensable, who’s surplus to requirements and everything else in between. If these players aren’t necessarily part of the plans, then either get their names out there early doors and start looking for replacements - when I say replacements, I mean of the necessary quality - or you keep them and this news doesn’t get out.

‘The other incoming depends on who they sell’... I’m sorry, what? So we’re sat round waiting for acceptable bids before belatedly trying to rush someone through the door? Far from that being time to strike a bargain, that’s leaving us ripe to get ripped off a la Sissoko all over again.

This is absolute negligence of the highest order. What happens for example if Bayern wave £45m at us for Alderweireld? That’s a great bid which we’d be foolish to turn down given his circumstances, but then we dither and wait to see if we can find some replacement at a decent price at short notice, or we keep him and then we’re at the mercy of anyone who bids £25m next summer?

We’ve had the latter part of last season to formulate our plans and then the summer to execute them, this just smacks of a club lacking in direction on the pitch despite all of the good work and plans taking place off of it. Remains to be seen how things turn out in the next week, but even in the event that we replace whoever we sell, they’ve still missed out on anything between 5 days to 5 weeks of time to get used to their teammates, Poch, the tactics etc.

This isn’t good enough, in fact it’s amateurish.

Exactly what Worcester said

I said the same thing on another thread earlier.

Any fan has known for months that if we were to sell three players, it would be those three. It isn’t news, there aren’t any quotes from the club, it’s a guy at a desk generating clicks by writing what fans already know and starting it with ‘Sky sports reports’. And if they get more bets on say Toby to Utd as a result, bingo.

One or more of those may go but equally they may stay and there is no evidence or story behind this at all. If they go, the club will have considered their replacements.

Calm your boots folks!

I think we're capable of being idiotic and selling Toby without a replacement. Leaving Dier as the only fit deep midfielder and main back up CB. That's what I'd be annoyed about

Levy is going to get a BIG surprise this season.
One or two injuries to the few key players we have left, and he will find himself sitting in his wonderful new stadium, half full, with a relegation candidate playing in it.

I don't like the truth any more than any other Spurs fan. But it looks like Levy is out foxing himself this season. And we are in for trouble.

You don't announce this stuff a week before the window closes levy is wumming us again

I'm sure Toby will be the only one to leave but like ace says if we don't get martial in return which is unlikely it's weakening us and strengthening a rival. Lots of not good enough squad players must be wanted at the club too which is worrying. We'll over pay for grealish and either panic buy someone average or fail to get a top player after Toby goes to United on deadline day.

Tbf these guys were always the ones we knew that were going to be sold - however sky sports is a trash outlet these days. Manipulates rumours so that punters can bet on transfers - really unethical.

You reckon 1 or 2 injuries will make us a relegation candidate - pure clownery.

Which 1 or 2? Kane and Eriksen? Kane and Dele? Kane and Jan?

A combination of the above over the long term would scupper top 4 for ourselves, we would still have a squad capable of coming 6/7th at the least. Absolutely no chance we would be fighting relegation.

This is the ballsheet that pisses me off, we haven't signed anyone yet so people make mental predictions like this, forgetting we've been top 3 the last 3 years and lots of our first team just starred at the World Cup. But booo fecking hoooo we haven't splurged cash with 6 days of the window to go, embarassing to see presumably grown men do this.

All 3 have been heavily linked with moves away over the past 8 months anyway.

Rose has persistent fitness issues, Demebele has said himself he can't cope with the pace of the PL anymore and whilst I'd like to keep Toby, getting 50m+ for him is good business.

The thing that worries me is who is going to be brough in to replace them. If Rose goes, we only have Davies to play LB... Toby goes and we're short at the back.

We've known all year that Demebele is struggling to maintain his fitness - All year we've had to find a replacement. As tidy as Cook is, he's nowhere near Demebele's caliber.

Interesting week ahead...
