Top managers and scouts don't buy players on the back of an International Tournament. They've usually scouted the player for a season or two.

If we are indeed linked to Vida, he must have been impressed before the WC

I have absolutely no idea how he performed before the WC. But he was decent vs England and vs France tbh. Wasn't really troubled before that.

Thought i read somewhere that he only joined Besiktas in Jan. Must have really impressed if true.

It seems to be the case according to Wiki. only spent 6 months in Besiktas and one season in Germany back in 2010-11 in which he made a total of 1 appearance!

Domagoj Vida is a brave, hard working, no-nonsense defender with clear leadership qualities. Strong in the air, decent passing distribution. His decision making gets him in trouble at times & he can be a bit clumsy on the ball

Vida wears his heart on his sleeve. He's a great player for team moral, a fighter who does not quit. Well suited for Premier League football. Powerful, physical, pretty quick. Is he World Class? No. But a solid all-round defender who would add steel to just about any team

Regarding a potential move to Arsenal. Well Vida is the type of defender fans have been demanding for years. A combative CB to organise and lead the back-four. He's not the prettiest player on the ball and has his faults but if you want a fighter he fits the bill

And how do you come to that conclusion? I would say they are atypical of his signings. Giroud, Podolski, Kolsaniac, Xhaka, Ozil, Mustafi. All slow overtly technical players. If anything Alexis was was the outlier.
