Rangers v Maribor

Great result last night. One of the most pleasing aspects is the 2nd half performances we seem to be able to put in. So much better than last year!
I don't think we would have won this game last year, or by a 2 goal margin. Also probably would not even have reached this round.
Great stuff. Bring on the games. At mirren next.

That EstConsultancy on twitter was saying there is an option in the deal for Coulibaly. Usually correct so can only hope that's true as he could be a massive player for us.
Delighted with last night still. If only Maribor didn't have a Van Basten impersonator playing for them the tie would be dead.

great result for Scottish football... mon the co....
HOWEVER !!!!
I noticed this on the bbc website from an ex ger..
'Rangers got the breaks' - analysis
Former Rangers and Scotland striker Steven Thompson on Sportsound
Maribor had a 30-minute spell in the first half when they were in control and maybe should have scored another. There's no doubt there was a reaction from Rangers in the second half.
Their tempo increased, they created more opportunities, they were playing higher up the pitch and they got their goal. The first one had a sniff of offside and it was a definite handball for the last one, but these are the breaks that you get and Rangers have had them.
I'm confused...
I thought the world was against you?

The BBC clearly are judging by that nonsense

Maribor made it an even contest for about 20 mins, other than that it was one way traffic. We completely controlled the second half.
Never offside for the first one. I've watched it a few times and Morelos was level. Third one came off Coulibaly's shoulder.
Their goal was never meant either. They didn't show anywhere near the quality that suggested their goal was meant. It was meant as a cross but he skewed it into the net.
So Steven Thompson is full o' p!sh and obviously you believe him first. Why don't you watch the highlights and judge for yourself before leaping to conclusions?

Steven Thompson's comments are strange.
No such 30min spell ever occurred, they had a 10-15 min spell apart from that Rangers were in control.
Don't think the first one was offside and pretty sure it came off his shoulder.
Refs in Europe seem to be competent, it's hard for us to get accustomed too

Agree there was never a half hour spell 15 minutes at most they were in control. We should’ve been two up at the break. Morelos made up for it in the second half though.
We were fantastic. Would’ve won by more if their keeper hadn’t made a worldly of a save

I watched the game on Rangers TV, then put the BBC Scotland on at half time - honestly thought they’d been watching a different game to me. Talking about “wave upon wave of Maribor attacks and desperate defending”
I don’t think they were watching the game at all.
